Hey everyone! With having such a great success at keeping my veiled chameleon Kiki, I've decided to take on keeping another chameleon of another species, the Jacksons Chameleon!
His name is Venom, he's adjusting to his new home right now so I want to just let him be and not put a phone in his...
Your gonna need more information than this. Where did you get him? How old? Any health conditions? Inform us! Include more pictures of him and his enclosure.
He should be walking around and exploring the new enclosure out after a day or two of being in there. The move was probably just a little bit stressful on him. I'd be concerned if he wasn't being active in the enclosure after a day or two.
Some tips from one keeper to another...
1.) It is fine for right now, but you will for sure want to upgrade your cage to a bigger size within a few months. She will quickly out grow that cage.
2.) Get a linear uvb light, those spiral lights are no good.
3.) Get rid of the fake plants and add...
How much are you feeding? She could be over weight. It happens fast and it isn't good especially for females, can lead to her eggs getting too big. Five buggies every other day is the correct amount :)
This is my baby, I suspect she is around 7-9 months old? I know she was definitely too young to be sold when I got her, but you can see she has a little lump. I think she is working on eggs but isn't quite ready to lay them yet.
11 months seems about right, my cham is the same size as yours. Mine doesn't get recessive colors like yours has. The yellow spots indicate she is old enough to have eggs. Post a good picture of her belly. Is it lumpy?
She doesn't look big enough to be gravid. How old is she?
@MissSkittles is pretty great and has some experience with female veilds. More than I do anyways.
You need a lay bin in the cage that is a permanent part to her enclosure. It should be play sand or ReptiSoil is what I use. Keep it most...
I thought if you feed your chameleon that much she could produce too many eggs and die? I stopped feeding as much because of this. She gets 5 buggies every other day.
Thanks everyone! Will she stop digging if someone walks into the room? My family isn't big on reptiles and they dont understand how serious it is. They run up the stairs and just barge in the room sometimes.
If i put her in a lay bin will she automatically start digging if she is ready? Or if she feels uncomftorable will she just not lay them? I have no experience with female veilds she is my first cham and I really love her and want her to make it through this!
