My baby's gonna have to deal because that's the only time I have a purple cham. I'm guilty of it so often that my older adults never even bother to wake up anymore. This baby, as you can see, hasn't been exposed to it enough yet. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, little guy!
I would say the vet for diagnostic measures is your best bet.
Is there a glass cover on the tank, between the UVB fixture and chameleon? Glass reflects UVB, so if there is, your cham isn't getting any of it.
Has she been checked for parasites lately via fecal exam?
Repashy's Bug Burger is...
Hahaha, maybe I should move my "cham jungle" inside the closet then...
I have a T5HO fixture for my UVB. I assume they have 65K bulbs in T5, although perhaps a bit more pricey?
You definitely want to get more vines/branches into that cage. You want your cham to be able to get to every spot of the cage by walking on the vines and not having the rely on the cage'a mesh. Top, bottom, right, left, diagonals... It should look like a 3D spider web.
Yes, but by essentially feeding the feeders, you're feeding your chams. The feeders are merely the vehicles through which food is delivered to your cham. Feeders themselves are pretty useless when it comes to nutrients. My chams only care to eat live.
Not unless they're in a free-range or very large enclosure where they can get away of each others' sights if they wanted to. Even if they don't fight, the stress will affect them.
I have Repashy's Bug Burger, but haven't made it in a while. Usually, they get whatever I pick up for groceries. I'm a vegetarian, so there's always a nice variety of fruits and veggies.
Radish greens, squash, pumpkin, oranges, grapefruit, apples, blueberries, carrots, arugula, basil, quinoa...
I had to attract you guys into opening the thread lol :D
My chams are fine, except they're probably frustrated that they keep getting thrown onto plastic plants. I'm probably only capable of growing poison ivy...
I bought an umbrella plant, threw my cham on it, and a week later, all the...
Is the bulb separate from the UVB bulbs, or are there any that will grow plants as well? Could you provide me with a link for a recommended bulb & fixture?
You should get rid of the waterfall. They don't need it and they don't consider it a drinking source.
Sitting on the bottom of the cage for prolonged periods of time is definitely a bad sign.
What is the gutloading powder called? It's usually not recommended that commercialized products be...
I have the opposite of a Green Thumb. I cannot keep plants alive for the life of me. I don't water them enough, I water them too much, I don't give them enough light, I give them too much...
I recently converted a furnished basement into a free-range jungle. I've been wanting to keep live...
Does he stick his nose up in the air a lot, either with his mouth open or not?
It may be hard if he's so territorial and aggressive, but can you hear any popping, gurgling, and wheezing from his lungs if you put your ear up to it?
Is he well hydrated (eyes not sunken in)?
It's best to...
He's not really purple, but the way the flash reflected the picture makes him look really cool. He was actually a very dark charcoal grey, almost solid black. Then he woke up and turned back into the light grey with dark grey bars that he always has.
He's only 3 months, and I'm really excited...
You're right - she's beautiful just the way she is. It's not about the looks, but it's what's on the inside that counts. Don't let others bring you down, woman! Curves on a woman are sexy
Definitely good point - remember, they have the motive of making money. They'll tell you that you need an expensive $200 glass tank, a $15 bag of gravel, a $50 waterfall, etc.
