    Question about best heat option

Hey, guys. I've been building a vivarium for my future chameleon and I wanted some advice on heating. What should I use? In the past I used a uvb and basking light combo, but i've read online that it's best to seperate uvb, light, and even heat, so the chameleon can choose the location that...

    Grow light LEDs and Chameleons

Wow. A lot to think about. I think I'l run some experiments with the strips and driver before i make any final decisions. Also, I just want to clarify. He has a uvb bulb + heat combo and this will not be replacing that

    Grow light LEDs and Chameleons

Hey, guys. I have some extra LED strips (about 40watts max) and I wanted to put them in my Cham enclosure to help out my plants. They'd be placed so that my Chameleon can't touch them (as they do get about 85F). Has anyone used LEDs before? Would this be too bright for him to look at? Cheers

You know your stuff. That's the name of the breeder, so that's the line. They're a nice family in LB, right?

Chameleon hides when I get to close. Taming questions.

Hey guys! Our chameleon is now an entire year old and doing great! The only issue we have is that he doesn't like to be held, touched, looked at, or really anything else. We'd love to get him used to us so that we can pick him up without fearing that he'll try biting us or jump out of our hands...

Hey! We have a handsome Panther Chameleon (Ambilobe and Ambanja cross) we'd love to breed with a fellow breeder in the area. We're only looking to keep a couple eggs and could house them ourselves. Zack

    Hawk Moth Breeding (Young Chameleon)

Hey everyone, I have about 20 HUGE hornworms and I was hoping to put a few in my chameleon cage and breed them after they hatched into Hawk Moths. My guy is only 4 months old. Will a few moths in his cage 4'x2'x2' scare him too much? Also, will the moths even breed if I don't have a tomato...

    Hawkmoths breeding!

Do you need a tomato plant in order for them to breed? I was hoping i could throw a few moths in with my 4 month old chameleon so they would hopefully breed in the cage. Doubt he would eat them though as they are probably too big for him. He's not even eating the hornworms :(

Earl Thomas - my little panther man.

Thanks so much and I've been noticing that! Will definitely utilize this site as much as possible now. Update: I changed his lights. He is now using a Uvb Heat combo 100 watt and I threw in a 5 watt led on the other side. Hopefully his cage is easier to see and more natural now. On a side...

I have read through various care sheets, but online people were saying they worked fine as a day heat source. I figured the light from the uvb would emulate the sun but I see your point. I'll mess around with a few bulbs in the house and see how hot they get!

They are okay to use as a heat source, correct?

I've been using the red light as a heat source and a ubv light, but I turn the heat/red light off at 530pm every night. Thanks for the advice! I want to take the uttermost care of this guy
