    DIY Double Cage Build

This thing looks like it is built like a rock. I’m having fun with the SketchUp viewer on iPad for sure. My first suggestion is to remove the crossbeam on the front floor area so you can slide your drainage tub/container in and out easily. It should not affect the structural integrity of what...

Don’t sell her for free. That’s not how you find a good home for a pet. Sell her for $100 bucks and see who shows up.

    Chameleon heating/ lighting

Heating pads don’t work well in chameleon setups. Ceramic bulb, well placed, is just a better option on cold nights

Congratulations! I suggest slowing down around him man. Your movements are so fast he is not sure what to think about you. Slow and smooth, like them :)

    Mouth Rot and Eye Drops

Raised a bit of bitey reptiles. We have leather gloves and jean pant legs sewn to them to cover up the elbows. Kept us from getting scratched up holding large green iguanas. No reason to take damage from a grumpy lizard you are trying to help.

    When should I feed?

Hi Maddoggie, That sounds like a good start to a plan. I suggest adding a glass drinking cup near the base of a plant at the bottom of the cage so the chameleon always has access to clean water. For plants, Pothos vine, umbrella plants, ficus, and I’ll have to look at the safe plants list...

My chameleon is grumpy & won’t leave the cage

Ouch. I guess it depends on your chameleon. I typically expect people to acquire them young but that is not always the case.

My chameleon is grumpy & won’t leave the cage

Chameleons are naturally defensive of their territory. However most of the time this is just a show. You can train your chameleon to be comfortable with you and your hands. There are a lot of opinions about this, but basically this means positive reinforcement like bringing treats, special bugs...

Where to buy t5 fixture and bulb?!

I’d like to know as well. I have been really discouraged by the price of the fixtures for T5HO bulbs. I was not expecting to spend 100 dollars on one light. Anyone have any ideas or options? I would like one with shutters of some kind to direct light downward. Also, how many bulbs would you use...

    Chameleon heating/ lighting

Thanks for sharing your chameleon’s reaction to the ceramic heater! I have been on the fence about them and I think they would just be a failsafe on cold nights to maintain minimum temperatures.
