Hi Maddoggie, That sounds like a good start to a plan. I suggest adding a glass drinking cup near the base of a plant at the bottom of the cage so the chameleon always has access to clean water. For plants, Pothos vine, umbrella plants, ficus, and I’ll have to look at the safe plants list...

Ouch. I guess it depends on your chameleon. I typically expect people to acquire them young but that is not always the case.

Chameleons are naturally defensive of their territory. However most of the time this is just a show. You can train your chameleon to be comfortable with you and your hands. There are a lot of opinions about this, but basically this means positive reinforcement like bringing treats, special bugs...

I’d like to know as well. I have been really discouraged by the price of the fixtures for T5HO bulbs. I was not expecting to spend 100 dollars on one light. Anyone have any ideas or options? I would like one with shutters of some kind to direct light downward. Also, how many bulbs would you use...

Thanks for sharing your chameleon’s reaction to the ceramic heater! I have been on the fence about them and I think they would just be a failsafe on cold nights to maintain minimum temperatures.
