Thank you both! @MissSkittles @Beman
The only recent thing that occurred is my house move, during which the mister was damaged and it took a couple weeks to fix so humidity was low. I have also realised my UV bulb is over-due replacement. Could either of those factors have caused this kind of...
Another photo attached - this morning I woke up to him in this position, his left legs both hanging in the air :(
His left back leg is definitely swollen at the knee, left front leg is swollen a little bit.
Is this a husbandry issue or time for a vet appointment?
Any advice for next steps...
Hi Beman,
I hope you’re well, happy 2023!
Of course, please find husbandry form below :) I have also just taken some photos of him and tried to inspect him more thoroughly.
His grip seems worst on his left hand side, the back leg on the left is swollen at the knee and perhaps a little at...
Hi guys,
I hope everyone & their cham’s are having a good weekend :)
My Nosey Be rescue has been increasingly clumsy over the past couple months:
- he is standing less, resting on his tummy mostly
- sleeps with half his legs dangling, not gripped in the usual sleep position
- His feet often...
Haha sorry, pics attached!
Ah so is it just the LoD that causes edema? In which case, subbing in Arcadia Earth ProA and using it with the LoD isn’t going to make a difference?
Pablo is a rescue, the first two years he lived with really bad owners and husbandry. He had edema when I first got...
No bee pollen or extras. It’s a cheeky male Nosey Be. Attached is:
- photo of the edema I took before stopping the supplements, it’s gone down a lot since I did that.
- photos of Repashy labels
Thank you so much for your help! This forum always amazes me how generous people are with their time :)
Hi Beman!
The chameleon oracle to the rescue 🙂 Hope you and your cham’s are well!
I was using Repashy supercal no D on every feed then subbing it for Repashy calcium LoD twice a month.
I paused all supplements for 2 weeks and the edema has definitely reduced so I’m sure it’s linked to the...
Hiya,
My panther hasn’t been getting on with the repashy supplements (edema developed) so I’m going to switch brands.
I was researching the Arcadia regime but I’m confused why that regime has separate magnesium supplements and no other brand does?! Is it neccesary?
I think the below two...
Hi Beman,
Perfect, thank you for taking the time to check - super helpful :)
I didn’t realise that UVB bulbs also provide D3 - I live in the UK in constant rain, maybe I’ll buy a few bulbs for my own health benefits! 😂
Have a great evening,
Katy
Hiya!
Just a quick UVB question, I previously brought an Arcadia T5 kit and the time has come to replace the bulb.
I brought the following kit: Arcadia ProT5 HO 24w + UVB forest 6% bulb
Is the below bulb the correct replacement one? I’m not sure about the mention of D3 in the name as it...
Hi guys,
Little Pablo still isn’t himself, he hasn’t pooped in nearly a month now and I haven’t noticed any urates either. He is still eating but a bit less than usual. I have reinstated his dripper.
He has developed a swollen area between his front legs, I’ve attached photos. He had edema...
Joint answer, thank you both so much! @kinyonga
Honestly no poop and no urates... most of the plants are fixed at a horizontal angle so theres only two pots that anything could fall into and i've been checking them. There's of course a chance I've missed a small urate but definitely no poop...
Hi Don,
Thank you for your time!
Is it not a concern that he hasn't pooped in nearly 3 weeks? Upon further research I think his last poop had urate crystals in.
Good idea about a plant light, thank you! English winter's are pretty dull...
Katy
Hi all,
Something isn't right with my little Pablo and I'm now getting very worried. He is a rescue who had a really bad first owner, I took him on about 8 months ago and he's been doing great until recently.... I really want to give this guy the best life he deserves so any help would be SO...
Thank you for going through it all - if only I had someone as helpful to sort out the rest of my life too! :ROFLMAO:
Yes the UVB & basking branches are both at 7" so the lights could overlap. If I need a 9" distance, could I raise the UVB light 2" instead of lowering the branch 2"? To prevent...
Hi guys,
Hope everyone is having a good week :)
As mentioned at the start of this thread, I adopted an adult panther who has been raised badly. I've been gradually correcting things and would really appreciate some feedback and pointers.
Below is my husbandry for general checks and a couple...
Yes that’s the schedule I’m aiming for! Just struggling to find a way to get it to come on at midnight without it also coming on a midday.
I’ll try the external timer method you just described below. I take it that was a digital timer?
Thank you for your time!
How do you configure it so that the humidity is high at night but not too high during the day? As it doesn’t have a 24hr clock?
The room my guy is in has 50% humidity baseline so it doesn’t need much misting during the day, but it needs boosting at night which is where I get stuck.
(I know the...
Hiya! Hope you’re having a good week!
Just wanted to see if you managed to run a mistking nozzle on the monsoon successfully?
Also, I’m trying to set up a monsoon at the moment and struggling to set up the timing schedule as it’s limited. How have you configured yours? Did you add a separate...
Yes I meant monsoon, sorry! Haven’t had a coffee today!
Ah bummer, I was hoping someone had managed to hack the timer system. Thank you for replying anyway - and if I find anything that works I will let you know :)
