Yep... that will work fine. I prefer the black aluminium myself. They have big rolls of it at the hardware store. You can pick the width you need and buy it by the foot;)

I dunno..... Ive found some very reasonable ballasts.... Amazon has a couple that are T5 54 watt High Output. U just have to look around. If you follow the links in my other thread this can be done for about 25 bucks;)

They are just basking bulbs...... Like regular household bulbs you would use... but with a blue tint. I use those because this hood puts out enough brite light already... I may use heat emitters for warmth during the day. I have to wait till its installed on the cage to see what options I will...

Also..... If you are a "Fraidie Cat" :p:) I bet your local electrician could do the job in about an hour or less

Got my parts!!!!!:D Look for a new thread to show how to do the conversion!!! "UP DATE".... Talked to an electric specialist & he said... No matter what ballast you use (1 or 2 wire) just get the unshunted end fittings ;) & if your ballast has only 1 wire you just plug 2 wires into the end...

It can be stopped, but deformed bones will stay.;)
