Ive been getting great life out of my Compacts. I discovered this after getting a Solar Meter.... I had 1 that wasnt thrown out yet but replaced after 6months and still had good life in it. Hello Anne !!!!!

I would place it somewhere in the vicinity of the basking spot. Thats where they hang out the most;)

YEP!!!! Actually they are 1 5/8" shorter;) I have the T5 Arcadia here already. The trick to the bulb adapter ends is you "HAVE TO" determine the start method of your ballast and get the shunted or non shunted 1's;)

Yes...Thats the reason for the conversion:D I want to use the new Kick Butt Arcadia T5 reptile bulbs found at Todds store.... www.lightyourreptiles.com From what I read they give off super UVB and last alot longer before replaceing.

Yes..... This conversion is for those who want to go T5 high output without having to go buy a new hood;) I called the place in the link I posted for the bulb fitting adapters & he said he would look into getting more in stock. He was out of the shunted adapters for the instant start ballast...

I am converting a new Zoo Med 36" Slider hood From T8-T12 to T5 High Output Bulbs;) I just have to swap out the ballast and install new adapter ends for the T5 Bulb. These adapter bulb fittings will fit in the exisitng cut outs for the bulb fittings that are already there.;)
