Good point! Its risky to try a plant without seeing if its toxic i would stick with a Ficus or umbrella plant, they are hardy and absorb water well! Ficus not so much but make a good tree for a enclosure.

You have the wrong size enclosure also wrong UVB and heating... did you purchase the chameleon kit? If so im sorry to tell you but you need to act quick, almost everything in the chameleon kit is the wrong husbandry what i would do for now is set up a basking spot add a few horizontal sticks...
