Oh dear. I've definitely got that wrong then. I was absolutely told they are classed as juvenile until 12 months old and can eat freely until then. Pants!
I thought that was from 1year old? She's only just approaching that but was gravid from june-sept, so has been having as much as she's wanted until now.
She's not eating g much again atm but usually 2-4 locusts a day. She's still under a year old so was basing this on the junior diet of let them eat how many they wish to. All temps and humidity have remained the same and her cask isn't bulging, so I'm pretty sure it's not a weight issue. But she...
That's handy to know.
We've not had any more xrays since she was full of eggs. She's laid those but I'm wondering if she's used left over sperm to create a second batch? She's showing all signs of being receptive again but I'm not mating her. Her poor lil body has been through so much in the...
Hello! So kinda feeling like groundhog day over here! Angel has recovered so well from her egg issues that, just shy of a month later, she's wanting out of her viv and showing her pinks again. The only time she's behaved like this before is when she wanted to be mated. Surely that can't be right...
Look who's popped up to say hello!
Just want to thank you all so much for your support and advice. This forum is full of amazing people and I'm grateful I found you!
Angel has been egg free now for 10 days and is slowly recovering. Most of the eggs have shrivelled up but that's OK. She is the...
I've ordered more branches today so should have those in a day or 2. Also looking for some kind of cage for around the lighting as I found him climbing on the lights and water system again this morning! 🤦♀️
I'll do some checks tomorrow. Thank you so much. We do have a lattice covering the whole back panel, which he also climbs amongst daily. I've checked that for sharp edges etc where it was cut to fit, but cant see or feel anything that could cause an issue. I'll be monitoring this very closely!
The lights are far enough away according to the cham academy guide, but that's only when he's on his branches. He's a flipping good climber though and quite often found on either the mesh screen or the heat lamp cover or the light fittings or anywhere he's not meant to be!
Hi all,
Question about our boy this time.
I think he's hurt his foot somehow. He seems to be missing a couple of claws and has a patch of skin missing. Pics below. It doesn't seem to be causing him any pain or distress. And its not weeping or bleeding at all. He's climbing around and using all...
Special indeed! We hav had egg no12 dropped at some point this afty but not in the hole she dug back out. It was just on the floor of the viv. She's drinking loads now. Honestly this girl is so confusing!
HELP!!!
I expected her to be in her branches wanting food and water this morning. But she's not. She's frantically digging where we found the eggs yesterday!! Why? The area was completely back filled, so we thought she had finished with egg laying. Could there be more? Have we ruined things for...
She did it!!! She's laid 11 beautiful little eggs! Whether they're fertile or viable, time will tell. But that's not the important bit. She is. She's gone straight to bed so I'll be up early tomorrow to check her condition and give her plenty of food.
She's carried these eggs since developing...
She seems to be digging in the same place, has made a massive trench and now seems to be trying to tunnel along the bottom. Difficult to get a pic as I dont want to put her off or make her abandon it :-(
So we're now on day 5 of continuous digging, as she restarted after my last update. She hasn't eaten in a week. She's looking strong but exhausted, if that makes sense. How long can the digging last?! She digs all day then stops at night and goes to sleep. Is she wanting to lay or actually just...
