We only occasionally have a cricket jump out... And I agree, they are cheep, pretty sure they’re just a green food service to-go-container with a hole cut in it... We get white ones from Chinese take-out all the time! It does work good though.
o_OWOW!!!
Thanks for all the votes, comments, and likes...such a wonderful community! We're honored to win and would like to congratulate the runner-ups and all those that entered, some really tough competition this month! You all have helped to make our family very happy and proud! Thank...
You just need to be careful with a lamp as powerful as the Arcadia 12%, if the fixture is suspended too low you can introduce dangerous levels of UVB into the enclosure! Read the article I linked and follow the guidelines for distance between the lamp and where your basking spot will be...
Same Arcadia 12% lamp...different fixture... The article I linked should contain the necessary information to get your UVB levels in check. You're going to have to get your fixture suspended about 7-10 inches (~18-25 cm) above the top of your enclosure, depending on the height of your basking spot.
This is what I’m using as well. You just need to make sure you lift it far enough off the top of the enclosure so as to provide a safe level of UVB. Lots of good info here: https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-cage-set-up-replicating-the-sun/
So, we just received 100 BSFL and several are already pupated. Just wondering if anyone has recommendation on how to feed them off. I'm thinking about placing the pupated larva in the enclosure, say in the pot of one of the plants and just waiting for them to hatch to flies...or should I hatch...
I guess!!! The poor little dragonfly only made it a couple of minuets after we stuck him in there!
Sorry it’s such a crummy little video (just loaded up a Live Photo) ... I was just so excited he went right after it, feels good to provide that for him!
We’re using the Climist Cyclone... cheaper than the mistking and I believe it has the same function. It’s also programmable to the second as well!
