    Help. Swollen foot.

Saw the vet yesterday afternoon. She prescribes Baytril and also gave me some "Carnivore Care" to force feed him if needed. Got home and gave him some medicine, some of the food, and water to wash it down. He seemed very upset about it all (understandably) This morning he was much more active...

    Help. Swollen foot.

Actually I posted about his indeference yesterday, but it seems like it was skipped over. I made an appointment this morning for tomorrow afternoon. I posted for recommendations on a local facebook page she she was reccommended by 16 people, and she was the only one recommended. I'd like to get...

    Help. Swollen foot.

I'm not gonna say either of you are right or wrong. I don't know the best course of action for this guy. No one can see the future. My question now becomes, could his neutrality toward me be a symptom? He now tries to let that leg dangle and not use it whenever possible while perching. When he's...

    Help. Swollen foot.

I've found a vet in town the is quite experienced with reptiles. If I can get an appoinment that works with my hours I will take him in. She said there were openings Thursday and Friday I believe.

    Help. Swollen foot.

Did you decide/do this all on your own or was it with vet recommendation/help/prescriptions? --- Edit: Just saw you edited your post to include the part about the vet. I'll try to make an appointment but I'm not very confident any vet in this town has real chameleon (let alone reptile) experience.

    Help. Swollen foot.

Thanks, I'll keep the polysporin in mind for future reference. Thanks! Hadn't thought about that as a cause. Even overcoming infections? I was under the impression they were WC. The female is as skittish and scared as I'd expect a wild caught to be. The male however (the one with the swollen...

    Help. Swollen foot.

I do have Cipro tablets on hand (and also liquid fenbendazole (panacur) if I needed to treat for worms). I can make a suspension out of the Cipro at any strength needed(it's what I do for a living) Is Cipro something usually used on Chams? Is there anything I can use topically/internally that's OTC?

    Help. Swollen foot.

There are 4 vet offices in town. One was closed so I will call them tomorrow. Second place said no reptiles. The third said they have a vet that comes into town sometimes and sees reptiles, but is booked up to the 29th. The 4th place said they see reptiles regularly with a specific vet, but they...

    Help. Swollen foot.

Thanks all! Just got home. Eyes are both fine. He has some rust color throughout his head/body and it's also on his eye turrets. In the picture the way the skin creased plus the rust color made it look like a pocket/swelling but it is not. I tried to upload a video of the eye but couldn't. Looks...

    Help. Swollen foot.

I'll have to call around and see if anyone would see and "exotic" (small town and I could see the 3 or 4 vets offices we have saying they wouldn't see him) I'm not sure on the eye and casque as I actually haven't seen him myself yet. I'm at work and the husband unpacked them. I'll be sure to...

    Help. Swollen foot.

Just recieved this male hoehnelii today. I was told he had a swollen toe. This is a swollen foot/lower leg. I'm not sure if that means it has spread or if it was just described as "toe" even though it actually looked like this. It is not curved like MBD, just swollen. He moves around well and...

    ***The Official Enclosure Picture Thread***

Do you have any pictures of the setups you had for them? I'd love to see them if you'd message them to me. Also what perameters you had them at. I know the average range, but each person I talked to seems to have a slightly different variation. I have until tuesday (that's when they get here) to...

    ***The Official Enclosure Picture Thread***

Thank you for the suggestion! There is a layer of soil under the bark, and then there will be a layer of river rocks across the top to prevent ingestion. Microfauna are already present. I know it seems a bit backwards, but I read about others doing it with success, so I hope it works for me...

    ***The Official Enclosure Picture Thread***

My two set ups for a pair of Hoehnelii (who are on their way to me). Neither is completely finished. Both need lighting changes and left ones background is in the mail. Generous mix of real and fake plants until the real ones fill in. Happy to see I'm not the only one with an affinity for those...

    Hoehnelii Cohabitation?

Crisis averted. Found someone in this tiny town who was selling an enclosure. Will be picking it up today.

    Hoehnelii Cohabitation?

Thank you. I've got the temps and everything figured out. I've read that one and was hoping to get some fresh perspective as that's almost 9 years old. Possibly. I like the way it's currently set up, but nothing is permately affixed. Whatever is best for them. I was thinking the about the black...

    Hoehnelii Cohabitation?

Hello all, I have a 1.1 pair of Hoehnelii which will be arriving in a few days time. Although the ultimate goal was a pair, I honestly wasn't expecting to find them so soon, so I only have one enclosure set up at the moment. I know each individual will tolerate different things, but on average...

    Live-Bearer Breeders in Arizona?

Does anyone in Arizona breed live bearing chams? Excluding Jacksons.

    Cham. measurements?

I was planning on a male flap neck, and maybe a female for him in the future. Unless I came across a hoehnelii for sale, that's what I truly want, but can't seem to find. So unless I got one of those I'll be getting a male flap neck. I was just hoping maybe the veiled would work out for me size...

    Cham. measurements?

So in reference to veileds, what would you say the average nose to vent length is? Because my only real reason for not wanting to keep them was because of length, but when I got to thinking about it I realized that was probably at least half (or more) just tail. But I still don't want to have...
