I second on adding more horizontal branches/foliage closer to the uvb and basking area. Also I noticed your little guy hanging upside down under the lights this is typical behavior for young chameleons. I’m pointing this out because I’d suggest finding a way to raise your basking light so it’s...
My panther has no rhyme or reason on where he goes before the misters go off. My Leds and basking bulb shutoff indicating an “alarm” that mist will be coming soon. Sometimes I’ll see him start to retreat into the leaf cover other times I’ll see him waiting under the mister and gladly stay under...
That is a good idea and a very natural way to do it. Low Ks Morning and Sunset and slowly increasing to 6500 midday Instead of blasting them with full daylight the majority of the day.
For me Uvb/6500k lights come on first then half hour later basking and leds start to come on. I like to mist before lights come on and after uvb/6500k comes on. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I have an afternoon rain shower that shuts the basking bulb and leds off while keeping UVB/6500k...
I order crickets from them never seen a single dead one out of the box yet knock on wood. They also last forever if you take care of them with proper cleaning and food. I can keep a bin of 250 crickets from them and maybe only have 10 die offs in a month span. Now worms like Silkworms, BSFL and...
I order my crickets from joshs frogs as well and get that exact item. I assumed it was a package warmer of some sort and just toss it. Usually there will be a heat pack in the box with the crickets as well but different from the one above. Never really put too much thought into it and just...
This is a great idea! I have been researching a lot on bioactive setups for both glass and screen there is some great setup builds out there if you search around enough. This upcoming summer I’m upgrading from a large keeper screen DS to a bioactive exoterra 36x18x36 or a new large atrium DS...
Couldn’t ask for a better person to receive it than him. I’ve learned so much from his posts and podcasts. Any keeper from the beginner level all the way to an experienced one can benefit from his knowledge. Very much deserved! Congrats Bill
Yes I forgot to mention I noticed your lamp is directly on the screen, I would find something to raise it a few inches off the screen. Young chameleons are know to climb right under lamps and can cause severe burns like @kinyonga mentioned.
I agree with @GoodKarma19 theres lots of options for good reputable breeders on this forum that ship live chameleons across state lines with great success.
You will want to take into account that your chameleon will be a couple inches higher than the probe this means it will be a couple degrees hotter than what the probe reads at the level you have it.
I started out with a 3 month old panther And was told a basking temperature around 82 at that...
Depending on the age of the chameleon the basking temperature varies. You can look this up in the resource section on the forum under caresheets. Here’s a link for panther care.

For measuring temperature A good option is using a digital thermometer with a probe. The temperature guns only give the surface temperature of the object it’s being pointed and not the air temperature.
