And we're back folks! So happy to be putting together the outdoor enclosure for another summer. Temps looking good for Cryo to come out this weekend! The Mandeville selection this year was a bit rough but it should fill out. The clematis is going crazy already.
Regular Mandevilla that has larger leaves and grows in more of a vine. Not to be confused with Dipladenia that looks similar but has smaller leaves. I can only find them for a few days around mother's day.
Absolutely stunning. You mentioned YLs making a comeback... Are they less available now? Which type of Parsons is most available currently and which ones are least available?
Some chameleons do go to specific spots/branches and use the same spot repeatedly to poop. Mellers are famous for this. Panthers do this to an extent but usually don't hold it until they are out of cage. You might just have a very hygienic chameleon that doesn't want to mess up his great...
I had one in the early 2000s. I will admit my care back then was very beginner so there could be a ton of variables. The oustalets only lived for about 3 years and a panther in my care at the same time with the same general care lived to be 5.
I agree with offering additional misting(s) in the morning after lights come on... Preferebly the basking light should come on later than other lights to keep it cool. You want the morning dew to stick around for an hour or two in the morning so they can actively drink.
I'm sure they are all stressed. They look within the range of what a normal chameleon should look like yes. However that said I would still pay extra for a breeder that raises individually.
They look decent but being housed together with some of them are already showing adult colors I would not be surprised if there are tail nips and other damage done due to stress of housing multiple together.
I agree this should be done with caution. Crickets especially are risky from pet stores. I usually buy super worms from Petco as they are always available and also come straight from the supplier. The crickets I only get when it's an emergency. I have seen them display some weird behavior...
Parsons are slow drinkers, while you wait for the vet can you give her some long mist sessions around 30 min? If the mist collects on her face eventually she will start drinking but it could take the entire 30 minutes.
Some chameleons lose pigment on one side of their tail gradually which does not appear to effect them negatively. I don't even know if the condition has a name but I've observed it in different species. Maybe someone else has better info.
Depends how much they are asking... This is a zoo med and are pretty affordable brand new. But if you can get it for 20-30 bucks go for it and just sanitize.
This could be a few things. Could be a bruise from injury or insect bite. Could be papilloma. Could be a burn. Or could be some benign discoloration due to unknown reasons. Is it only on one side of the tail?
