    Watery Worries

I seldom see my chams drink but never show signs of dehydration. Humidity helps spot with keeping a cham hydrated and live plants, particularly the fast growing plants like pothos, help a lot with that. I also occasionally mist at night... Like nature would have it. They won't drink but can...

    Way too many dubia!

To slow them, don't feed them. They will live for months with no food but will stop reproducing. I would personally sell starter colonies of say 2 m 2 f and 50 asst nymphs. Look for prices online. II give a lot of nymphs to the local pet shop. He in turn gives me a sweet discount. He gives...

    Phoenix worms?

They are my number 2 feeder behind dubias ... I actually use the flies because they are easier to feed. I buy my worms by the thousand and keep them in a wine fridge at 56 degrees. They keep for months.

    Plants

If she's eating that much, she might need more veggies. But scheffs are supposed to be safe for chams. Keep in mind they are not safe for mammals.

    Heat lamp help.

You don't want heat throughout. Lower temps (like 70F.) Are needed away from the spot.

    Water bowl

Keeping the two together is like always being around a bully. You may survive but it sucks and is stressful. If they seem to be ok, thats because the female is avoiding the male. I.E. The basking area, the water dripper, etc. I removed a female at a pet shop in this situation. Skinny and...

    Heat lamp help.

150 watt is a lot of heat. Especially in a glass cage. Chams need heat at the top (varies per species) and pretty cool in the rest of the cage. You probably need more like a 75 watt incandescent. He careful... Not a 75 watt equivalent. Old style light bulbs that are obsolete. Can be hard...

How often should I feed my chameleon Dubia Roaches?

I use roaches for about half their diet. Sometimes more or less depending what else I have available. My chams are over a year old so they eat every other day. Friday they ate roaches, Sunday it was stick bugs and black soldier flies. They will get roaches and black soldier flies tomorrow...

    Chameleon doesnt want crickets

did he ever like crickets? I use only fruits and veggies (and a little rabbit food) as gutload / food. Wal-Mart carrots are only $.50 a pound for the big uglies and make a great base. I feed bananas a lot as well. Cheap and nutritious. Apple cores, veggie scraps, half rotten or extra...

    Water Fountains

Fountains harbor bacteria that can kill a cham. Fountains are only good for short term use... Like if the cham is a bit dehydrated. But after a few days clean it, bleach it, let it dry out and pack it away. I have most my chams but a misting system makes life easier. Everyone rages over...

    Monsters from the Louisiana swamp

Yes. They are toxic to everything from eating the tomato leaves. Wouldn't it be great though?

    Free Ranging feeders

For soldier flies, a wine cooler was well worth the $60. I can buy my larvae by the thousand and they last months. Stick insects are cool drivers too. I have Vietnamese but feeding in winter is a pain. Some varieties eat ivy.

    Free Ranging feeders

I free range black soldier flies and stick insects and the very occasional hornworms (too expensive). Everything else is hand or cup fed. I attach my cup to screen with a magnetic clips and a washer on the outside. Been using that for a year.

Brand New Owner with a Few Questions/Concerns

I don't think the cham will find it too cluttered but you might. I prefer live plants. Plants are key. Pothos will raise the humidity like 10% or more. leaving crickets free will cause them to hide and escape. Cup feeding is the way to go.

    Watering

I'm headed out for three nights. Having someone come in on day two to feed an mist. Chams get a lot of their water from steady humidity. Plants help a lot with that.

    Still won’t eat ? HELP

Not sure where to get either in the UK. Here in the US green banana roaches are something you usually order then culture. Horn worms can be found online or in some pet shops. I used flies from outside when I needed to but usually have calciworrms pulsating.

    Still won’t eat ? HELP

Time to break out the big guns. Flies, green banana roaches or hornworms. Flies are my favorite. If they won't eat flies, they probably won't eat. You can get some black soldier fly larvae but they will take time to pupate. Look around for some pollinating flies outside. Typically slower...

    Live plant q’s

Don't think you need to clean it since its for reptiles... Maybe a rinse. I would use larger rocks. Extra light is needed. If the plants aren't to thick, a t5 (Reptisun etc.) might work. If the plants are thick or you want extra growth, add an led bulb as well. Anything above 4000k...
