This looks really great. How did you go about getting the mistking heads in?
I‘m really tempted to go with this same idea, but I’m having a hard time with drain dray ideas since I had planned on getting a cabinet stand from Zen, too. Since the entire bottom would be screen, I’d assume the drain...
You’ve got me wanting to try this myself! Not too surprised to hear spray foam is harder to work with than YouTube makes it sound 🙁 but you did an excellent job. I can’t wait to see this thing all set up.
He is so ridiculously cute. Wish we had the floor space for a tortoise table!
Edit: Just read that these dudes can live up to 90 years.. 😳 so does this qualify him as a generational pet? Like this guy...
I’ve got the weekend and until this Wednesday to wait :( my herp vet isn’t there every day of the week since he usually works at a zoo, but it’s coming up fast! @Klyde O'Scope you’ve been such a big help. Thank you so much for the well wishes and the support!
@Lindasjackson thank you so much to...
Awesome! I’d love pics. I did reach out again and they said they’d see what they’d do, or at the very least provide me with the top screen dimensions so that I can have something fitted. Great suggestion, btw!
This is so very frustrating to me. I was genuinely considering going this route myself when I asked Zen Habitats this question..
I was wondering if an additional screen top - the same aluminum screen top that sits at the top of the 24 x 24 x 48 cage and holds the lighting - can be ordered...
Uuuugh.. yeah. Parasites was the first thought that came to my mind as well.
Thank you for the reassurance, and that’s good advice. Just going to assume he’s got it until we get some answers from the vet. If this DOES turn out to be a parasite, I can only assume it came from a feeder.. I...

That’s really great advice, and thank you so much for the help/support. Hopefully the next poop is normal, but better safe than sorry. It’s kind of difficult not to go from 0 to 100 because the exotic vet we see is only in so many days out of the week. Fingers crossed its nothing bad!
You deserve some sort of award for sifting through all of that. 👍🏻
I‘ll double check on supplies. Eggrate and lattice seem like the most solid options, and with both, there would certainly be more than enough anchor points for branches and plants.
My cham had a very, very runny bowel movement this morning.. best way I can describe it is diarrhea. Urate was solid and looked good. This is a completely new one on me as he’s never had a runny stool in the six months I‘ve had him. He actually hadn’t had a bowel movement all last week and I was...
I can only speak for myself here, but to remedy the issue of plants sitting on the cage bottom, I had planned to use 24“ flat straps or angle bar, screwed into the cage frame on the left and right sides as anchor points for wooden slats. The center plant/plants would then be sitting on the...
I get where you’re coming from. Some of the above pricing is accurate based on where I live, some of it isn’t. The other issue is limited availability of materials (living in a rural area is a huge bummer).
I’d be outfitting 6 cages walls total. Coated goat wire will run me more than $60...
Thank your for that, and will do! I got hung up on a timeline with the addition of a second cham, but the breeder isn’t exactly on my back about when to ship him yet, either. I’ll try Dale again in a few days if I don’t hear back.
I feel this entirely. Having to make phone calls provokes...
I feel like expenses tend to spiral pretty fast when preparing for a new pet, most especially a reptile. For whatever it’s worth, I’ve seen pics of your beardie cage and tortie table. Both look great, and I think it’s fantastic that you have their environments set up to meet your own specific...
