    Infertile Egg Laying Veiled-Chameleon

Hello! I’m not experienced with females personally, but I think I can answer some of your questions. Medication can definitely be hard on their little bodies. It sounds like this plus the egg laying is wearing her out a bit. Wouldn’t you be tired if you were not just laying eggs, but battling...

    Opinion on a rescued veiled

My guy was a rescue as well. He was also a bit underweight and about 1.5 years when I got him. He did not get any bigger really. He filled out though.

    UVB lightning Questions

I use reptisun and when I was first learning about them, I was told to change reptisun every 6 months and Arcadia every 12. I’ve been changing mine every 6. However, I’m also not as experienced as many here are.

    Molt

Is he a baby or an adult? Adults will shed in ‘parts’. They do not shed their entire body at one time like babies do. They will shed maybe their legs and then later shed their back etc. there is also a longer time between sheds. Babies shed all the time because they are still growing. If your...

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

This one with a 6% bulb is the best of the best for uvb. The bulb is good for a year. This is the whole kit with the fixture and bulb. https://www.lightyourreptiles.com/products/arcadia-lumenize-pro-t5-uvb-24-watt-kit.html This is a bulb on Amazon. It’s only good for 6months and you still...

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

https://www.lightyourreptiles.com/ Is a site sponsor and everyone here says they are super helpful. I personally did not purchase from here but it seems to be a great option. Lighting really confused me at first so if you have trouble figuring out exactly what to buy, let us know.

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

I’m in Missouri so not far from you. I have an all screen cage. I like the shower curtain because I can add to a side or take it away depending on the time of the year. Right now I have one side covered. Depending on the time of year I may have 2 covered. It gets super humid here in the summer...

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

Second half 😊 Cage Info: Cage Type - screen cage is great, however this is going to much too small very quickly for your guy. 2x2x4 is the minimum size for an adult. Chewy.com often has sales on them. We also have several site sponsors where you can find one as well as the lighting you need...

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

Ok here are my responses to your review. I’m going to split this in two parts. This is a lot of info and I don’t want you overwhelmed. So take it a little at a time and ask all the questions you need. You can never ask too many. Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - hes very handsome and looks...

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

Ok yes he looks male to me. It was just difficult to tell in the previous picture. I would suggest a husbandry review to try and narrow things down. Here is the form. Copy and paste it and fill in with as much info as you can. Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of...

    Why’s my baby chameleon digging?

Hi! I’m not great about telling ages so we can let someone else say for sure about that. I’m not so sure I see male coloring on your baby. Are you able to get any pictures that are better lit? And maybe of the back of the foot? I know you said you saw a tarsal spur ( that ‘third toe’) but is...

First baby veiled chameleon, no poop (First post)

Pesto is just adorable!!! I love the name! Urate looks great. You want no more than half to be orange/yellow color. More than that means he is dehydrated. I’m not real familiar with little guys, but I’m pretty sure he needs to be eating more than he is. I’m going to tag in someone else who knows...

The End of Our Journey: Saying Goodbye to Nachito

I don’t know how I missed this. I’m so sorry ❤️ It breaks my heart, but you did right by her. That vet sounds amazing. I’m glad you were able to find a good one.

Help me find the right UVB light fixture + bulb

I’m not sure what you have already. But I happened to have a double dome fixture from when my guy had the wrong set up. One side I have his basking bulb in and the other I have a plant bulb from Amazon. You can get a 2 pack pretty cheap. It’s not near as good as the long ones, but it works.

    Help replacing plastic plants 😳

I just want to say hi and welcome! You have some of the best keepers giving you advice, so I won’t really add much at all. You don’t have to rush and move her as soon as your new enclosure comes in. I would suggest taking time when it comes to get it set up just right before moving her over. As...

Little guy having an unusual shed?

Nothing looks out of the ordinary to me. As they get older, they begin to shed in ‘parts’. They may shed their limbs one week. Then another week or two shed their head. Then their back etc… as long as any stuck shed is not constructing blood flow, just let it be. My guys has flakes that stick...

constantly scratching at enclosure to get out!!

Thanks @MissSkittles! You are much much better at these anyway. I was totally gonna do this Friday evening, but I came home from work sick as a dog and ended up in bed 🙃 working in a school is like working in a Petri dish.
