I had never considered that. I can run one of these in a regular dome fixture like I was planning for a basking bulb, I'll just be adding a lot more usable light for the plants...
Glad to hear the greens are doing well where you are. The browns are really taking over here. How can you tell the difference between green and brown eggs?
It's a singalana x ventricosa hybrid. Obviously I don't have this all set up yet, but if I mist for 2 min 2x daily and use a 1 gal/hr dripper on the nep, I think it would only get ~8.5 oz of water total per day. And it is potted in sphagnum moss in a well draining pot. I was also going to add a...
That's interesting you say that. I killed a schefflera arboricola real fast several months ago. I have a large potted amate and the small alpine jr both thriving on my covered patio. We'll see how the alpine jr does in the cage soon.
This is the post that makes me bring this up:

Current plan is schefflera alpine jr, golden pothos, calathea freddie, red maranta, creeping fig, nepenthes bill bailey and one unknown bromeliad pup. I think the nepenthes has the highest light requirement but it will be high in the cage and I think/hope it will do well.
Question on anoles transferring nasties to chams-
What about people that use outdoor caging? Anoles would surely get in the cage for water, shelter and excess feeders, and then most likely be eaten by the cham. Unless you use window screen instead of hardware cloth.
I plan to get a 2' 4 bulb agrobrite fixture unless you guys can convince me to DIY an LED system. That seems a little over my head at the moment. The agrobrite is ~$90, add a UVB bulb and plug it in.
Is your monstera growing up that branch, latching onto it with its aerial roots?
I have a large potted one and I can't decide if I want to add a cedar post or let it sprawl and keep it pruned.
I do have an extra 48" LED shoplight I could use. I definitely can't leave them in bins on the porch because it's high 90s outside midday. I would probably have to split the pots into multiple bins and keep them inside because some of the plants are already pretty large.
What's the risk of not...
I have several potted plants on a covered patio that will go in a new Dragon Strand cage when it ships late August. Is going through this effort right now pointless if they will sit out on my porch another 8 weeks before coming inside?
I didn't hardcore sterilize these plants when I bought...
