Not to badmouth, but highlighter’s chameleons raises red flags for me. I saw them in person a couple years ago. Their adult males were VERY small, though beautiful. They claimed pure blood lines for their locals, I called BS on that immediately. I figured I was looking at line breeding for...
First off, I live in this most ridiculous state (CA), and it sucks on many levels. If my income wasn’t twice the National average for my profession I would have left 20 years ago. That being said, no one, I mean no one will ever take my firearms, or my pets. Is Florida’s response to the...
I just replaced my 70w Exo terra Sunray fixture with this unit. I don’t see much of a difference in light output, but it is much less expensive to run. Waiting to see the temps this thing creates.

after(Sunray is unplugged).
I would error on the side of cation and still look for a good vet. A fecal should be done as nearly all Jackson chameleons are wild caught or born out of wild caught females. I’ve never purchased from underground, but have watched where YouTube videos in the past. They seem to technically...
I have never cared for this species, but as far as bioactivity goes, I always recommend you take a look at the bio dudes YouTube channel. His approach/technique is very good.
I have heard the technology to provide proper UVB in an LED is available, but extremely expensive. At that price I have a hard time believing it is a safe source for chameleons. I’d like to hear more about it before I would purchase.
Time to put him outside. If I lost power for days at a time, I’d just leave him in his outdoor enclosure all day. You can bring him in at night if you like, but it hasn’t been that cold, at least not near Sac where I’m at.
It’s an exo Terra terrarium. These have small intake vents in the front lower panel (above bioactive layer). These vents draw in cool fresh air as your heating element and/or lighting creates warm currents resulting in a chimney effect. It works incredibly well, my only complaint about these...
I’ve placed at least 3 geckos, and 6 or so anoles over the years. They all eventually disappear. Oh, and it was rainbowmealworms.com, forgot the name for a moment.
I purchase anoles/geckos from mealworms.com to use as feeders occasionally. My chameleon doesn’t eat them right away. They’ll last months sometimes, but eventually they disappear. I assume he got hungry enough. I know I run the risk of parasites, but they are a “feeder” company, and my...
