Hey Sonicgil,
I use the exo terra dripper plant also and my chameleon loves it. He instantly recognises it as the source for water and will sit patiently in front of it if hes thirsty until it turns on (Comes on a timer for 15 minutes every hour)
I have some pictures on this thread...
Found an article published in the Guardian today regarding a new study into how a chameleon changes colour. Thought it could be of interest :)
http://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/mar/10/scientists-find-out-how-chameleon-changes-colour
and the actual study...
Thanks very much guys, I really appreciate your kind words !
Yes Jesse, chameleons are quite tricky to draw. It makes you appreciate them even more. All their little scales being different sizes and parts of their anatomy that don't really exist anywhere else in the animal world.
I'll...
I've been meaning to draw my chameleon and have finally found the time on this relaxed Sunday to get out my pencils.
Thought I would share it with you, just wasn't sure in which category to place it :)
I've yet to draw Nosy's spikes on his back and underbelly which I am particularly fond...
I just don't understand why she would need to. They are not the fastest animals in the world so if you're keeping an eye on your cham he / she isn't exactly going to get away from you. I can only see potential disaster giving false confidence that you can allow your cham to climb higher into a...
I really hope Ego pulls through. The picture of him resting against your stomach before he goes to bed really hit me. You'll be in my thoughts! Get well Ego!
You don't have to spend a lot on a reptile brand humidifier. You can get a cheap humidifier for the house and attach hosing to it. There's loads of examples on youtube like this

Hey, where is the humidity gauge positioned ? If it's right at the top near his basking spot then the humidity reading will be different to if it's in the middle or the bottom of the enclosure.
I generally tend to go with the reading in the middle.
In terms of keeping the humidity in a...

Sorry to bring back a thread that has been buried for 8 years, but thought i'd add it here rather than creating a new post.
Today I noticed something a little unusual, which brought the question of how intelligent chameleons are. I have a modified Exoterra Dripper plant providing water to my...
Have been trying to find out the nutritional benefits of the Black Soldier Fly (not the larvae) and have found this from a Black Soldier Fly farmer.
"The adult black soldier flies carry most of the nutrients stored in their larvae stage, which is 16% protein, 11% fat and 2.7% calcium"

Hey frankpayne32 I am also on a quest for a feeder cup which will cater for Dubia. Lol I call it a quest as i've gone through quite a few revisions and have still not figured one out yet. Most of the feeders on the forum are for crickets. When I've put Dubia in the same kind of set up the Dubia...
