you don't dust silks.
I wouldn't give more than two, preferably 1 a day. You obviously can give more, but you will have to deal with VERY liquid poo :D
I feed mine as much as he eats. He won't eat more than he needs.. Eventually you will learn how much it is. Plus, very soon his appetite will slow down a lot and you will be feeding him once every few days.
Just wanted to share my morning fail.
So, I got calci worms out of the fridge, warmed them up and left them in a shallow tray for "5 minutes".. Naturally I forgot about them, cleaned Rocky's cage, did some chores... an hour later I walked in he kitchen. The worms were everywhere, literally all...
update:
Today I cleaned his viv, rearranged everything, put a new bushy tree in and change the tube.. Rupert looks brighter and his blue bars became visible again! Hopefully he will look and feel even better tomorrow!:D
1. they huff
2. you starve him. Don't offer him anything for a couple of days, then offer crickets or whatever is it you want. If he doesn't want it, you continue not giving him anything until he eats. He will eventually.. cause he is really young and needs loads of protein to grow
Thanks Laurie!
I'll take her to the vet soon ish..
I really hope she can lay herself this time if she's gravid. She looks quite big so I'm like 90% sure she is...
The weather's been weird.. warm, then rain, then warm again, then hailstones.. I managed to get Rupert out for a bit, he seemed unsure about it. Gonna try again when have a chance.
Yeah I've heard that T5 supposed to be glorious, but I'm rather tight with £ at the moment. Also looking at at...
he's got a 100w lamp and 3 levels under it. I dont have a probe there, but I take his temperature when he basks.. he usually gets to mid 80s and goes down.
update:
now I'm pretty sure she is gravid. She weights 188g and was 168 10 days ago. I don't know how this is possible, I feed her only twice a week 2-3 big roaches/locusts and occasional blueberries. She does not do anything apart from basking.
I am a bit worried.. what are the chances...
probably not, but he's not supposed to be that dark all the time. He is of all rainbow colours at night and in the morning and really dark for the rest of the day.
He is a year old, his appetite is next to non-existing. The only thing he eats (if he eats!) is butterworms. He had a brief romance...
No he can't see anyone else from his cage, its covered with shower curtains.
I'll order a new tube today, see how that goes. Btw what's better Sun or glo?
I'm not sure what else to do.. the vet said there are further tests they could do but he seems fine. I am afraid I would be putting him...
Hi everyone, it's been a while!
I got a wee problem and I would like an advice (or two) pretty please.
My panther chameleon Rupert is always dark. He doesn't eat much and doesn't seem to be interested in anything. He used to be bright blue, now he is nearly black most of the time. I have no...
