    Which Roach Species?

Discoids are just like dubia in care and size but are absolutely more active. I have had both and they have different uses because my chameleons free range and have preferences. Some chameleons want to see a roach run along a branch. Some chameleons are less picky and will take from my hand or...

    B. thamnonbates ID and Seller

I’d love it if more sellers took credit card, that would be gold standard I think as far as security goes. I think many avoid it because of the fees, same as with PayPal. I learned recently that PayPal actually has a feature where by a buyer can pay by credit to someone who has a PayPal account...

    B. thamnonbates ID and Seller

Just for the record, PayPal is super safe, it’s the preferred payment method for all of eBay which is huge. BUT. And there is a huge BUT here...there is an unspoken rule amongst the live animal trade that people pay as a ‘friends and family’ transfer because it’s fee free. This method is...

    B. thamnonbates ID and Seller

I’ve seen him post some stuff that ‘shouldn’t’ have been available knowing the climate of the trade at those given times if you catch my drift. And those listing always seem to stay up for a long time for animals that should be hard to come by. Never even reached out, I have low tolerance for...

    Blue trioceros melleri

He’s crazy busy running his company. He and I talk pretty routinely for a while now and he still takes days to answer me sometimes. I’m sure he’s bombarded with people people wanting his babies right now.

    Blue trioceros melleri

Blue phase melleri are definitely a thing. It shows most on males during their breeding display in the spring and summer.

    Wax worm breeding?

It’s very easy. There are a lot of good videos on YouTube for setting up the media they grow in. Always use glass with a tight fitting lid, newly hatched are shockingly tiny, and climb well, and they can chew threw plastic containers. Beyond that they do all the work.

    Anyone feed milkweed bugs?

Yea I’d much rather feed lizards monthly than use powdered vitamins on my melleri honestly. That’s for another thread though.

    Anyone feed milkweed bugs?

    That’s my opinion, yes.

    Anyone feed milkweed bugs?

Hey guys. I never ended up pursuing it very far. I found them to be too much work and too low in fecundity for what would end up being a snack because of their size. My chameleons are too big for me to dedicate feeder space to such a thing. On that thought, I’ll say I’m working on a clean...

    Too many dubias

There’s a feeder marketplace on here. People post daily looking for a cheap starter. Sell off a large group of females and you’ll slow them down for a few months until more females mature. If you’re on Facebook there are tons of reptile related forums that allow sales. There are definitely...

    Roach rating showdown

They like floor space. I use the 4” tall bins that are long and wide. Most people I’ve seen keeping them you plastic shoeboxes. I’ll have to check my bins. I might be able to spare a decent sized starter.

    Roach rating showdown

I believe gyna do well in the same environment as banana and Surinam roaches. I personally plan to add a species of gyna, probably lurida, to my Surinam/banana bin later this summer after I move them to a bigger bin. I also plan to add a second member of the Pycnoscelus family to the bin at that...

    Roach rating showdown

@jamest0o0 I can say firstly that since I was a kid, the advice of the older experienced keepers has always consistently been to feed more small prey over fewer large prey items. Anecdotally, I noticed my chameleons maintain a better body composition this way and their poop look better as...

    Roach rating showdown

The size difference between giant gbr and regulars is not very significant. Giants are still very small relative to other feeders. Surinam are much larger. I think Surinam roaches are worth having for Parsons. They reproduce fast and most experts agree that providing many small insects is...
