I’m late to this, but I also put a copper rod in my mister reservoir. I also have one in my dog gravity water bowl thing and that cut back the pink slime significantly. I never had that problem with the Cham, maybe because I have fans on there all the time. But my dogs water bowl would get...
It’s the water that came from there. Idk. I was thinking of throwing it on my hydrangea outside, but then I thought it might change the color of it and it’s a pretty blue so I don’t want to do that. Right now I wait until night to put it in the street drain because my neighbors will look at me...
I vacuum out water ever so often and I’m wondering if it’s something I can use for like plants, or is it just no good? For instance aquarium water I heard is good for plants. Maybe a stupid question.
Interesting! I’m vacuuming a couple gallons out of the drainage tray every few days. Surprised how much those things hold. Maybe it’ll be less when I switch.
I ended up with that white hair mold in my dragon enclosure. It was on the coco coir that the isopods came in and I just dumped under and piece of cork bark. I picked it all out and good now. I’m also working on clover in there. Slow process😂 I can’t wait to do more with my Cham enclosure.
Okay yeah. So I’m thinking the landscape fabric or actual mesh/window screen would still catch her nails somehow when she digs down. So the egg crate would give me better reassurance that it won’t do that? Am I overthinking that?
But won’t the dirt like seep out of the front service door and look gross because it’s mesh? That’s why I thought I would need a liner of some sort. I would be fine if I didn’t need one. Also concerned with keeping the air flow. But if I do ~5.5” of substrate total, then I’ll have ~2.5 for the...
Should I get the plastic egg crate to put on top of the mesh? I’m visualizing what I want to do, I just want to make it ultra safe for her if she digs in the area.
I saw an old post of someone using a round one. I don’t think my brain would let me do that, I have a couple square 2x2 ones saved on my Amazon list. Also I could maybe sew (or have my grandma do it,lol) two of the corners so it would be almost an inch shorter on one side.
I appreciate you!
So if I keep it 1/2” pushed back, and even left it 11” tall, would that be okay for air flow while keeping the fans there? Or I can fold it in half.
And I’ll keep the bin there. But what if she does choose the general dirt? She might dig down far enough to catch her toes on...
That sounds silly now. How is she going to differentiate the all over dirt with the specific lay bin. She wouldn’t because it’s all dirt.
Also if it’s okay to block the front screen, would the fans pulling air out on top be enough for airflow? I added the fans to make sure I won’t have...
Additionally. If I only have about 5.5” of substrate including the drainage layer. Would I still need my lay bin for her? She scratched the bottom of that bin forever it seemed like. What if she gets to the mesh? Would she get that caught in her nails and get hurt? Would she know to stop?
I also have two fans pulling up on top already too to make sure there is enough air flow. But I don’t want to block the front, right? They have grow bags like the perfect size too but tall, I found an 11” tall one. Could I cut that to where it’s like 4.5” tall and then fill it up and still get...
