Ugh yeah that’s horrible. I mean it’s not at the point of them flying into my mouth haha. Maybe I’ll put some traps on outside on enclosure and look into some plants that kill/eat them for outside etc. and I 100% don’t want to kill my springtails.
I read there’s some other microorganisms that...
So idk if it’s gnats, fruit flies or what but since I went bioactive it’s gone down but still see them
Inside the enclosure. I guess it’s inevitable with moist dirt and heat lights etc. anything you guys do to limit these? I know the potted plants that get super soaked attract them and I found a...
It’s also been hard for me to even check for the dwarf whites and springtails to see how they’re doing. I’m sure they’re fine I’ll give it a few weeks before really digging.
The only issue I see having is my enclosure has a lot of plants and branches and poop is just gonna land on something instead of the substrate lol. Happened today but I just picked it with tweezers and dropped to the substrate. I have lots of plants planted as well in the substrate so the leaves...
absolutely. If they work with dwarf whites I may use them. I found a good deal on the rust giant canyons I may get through chewy but they’re from josh’s frogs but half the price.
Awesome! Yeah I figured there would be no issue with them. Was just some guy on Reddit that heard it from some guy lol now just gotta see if they work with the dwarf whites
Yeah you told me that on another post. I actually asked an isopod breeder this question and he recommended those as well. I just wasn’t sure if he was just trying to sell me or not since he first offered the rust colored ones which are $50/10 and he’s getting rid of all his stock.
Btw you’ve...
That’s actually the exact two species (and powder blue) someone on isopod Reddit told me have been known to eat chams eyes if given the chance. I have no idea of the validity of that or not though.
Hey everyone so I was wondering if there’s any species of isopods I can add in my bioactive enclosure that will coexist with the dwarf whites that I already have in there. I’d like a larger species that I can see doing there thing on top of the substrate and can live in that moist climate and...
Yeah that was my thought exactly. He’d lose like 10” of space. Now he has extra room. Made sure to give him access down to the bottom too. I spent the last two days playing with sticks and plants to get it right haha
