Ghann's Crickets... how many should I get?

I decided to get the 500 of the 5/8" cricks. They're ordered and should be arriving tomorrow. I want these crickets to live as long as possible (by the way, how long is that?)... As mentioned earlier, i have only one cham; I was hoping to hopefully try and breed them, but I'll be out of town...

How to cut ventilation holes for cricket bin?

I may try that next time. I ended up going to wally world and picked up a couple more cheaper (weaker plastic) bins. The plastic that the rubbermaids or RE brand is too strong, but I could cut through pretty easily using a box cutter (bought earlier today) on the weaker plastic. It did take...

How to cut ventilation holes for cricket bin?

Lids? As in the tops of the Rubbermaid bins? I had no idea... What does one do to avoid escapees? Some sort of tape so try can't climb?

Humidifiers - best kind and where to buy?

I got an ultrasonic Idylis brand humidifier from lowes. Humidity is a problem in my house especially during the dryer winter months. It was 90 or so dollars with warranty (thank god I got it.... It works well, but a sensor on it failed) and it gets the job done. Settings include a built in timer...

How to cut ventilation holes for cricket bin?

im having a real tough time cutting the plastic Rubbermaid bin for my order of 500 crickets that will be arriving tomorrow from ghanns. I usually have only 100 or so crickets at a time but with 500, I know I'll need much better ventilation. How do I go about cutting holes in the tough plastic...

Any chameleon owners in Omaha, NE?

Hi guys, I live near omaha in nebraska, and was wondering if anybody would be willing to perhaps work with me on buying crickets in bulk as well as other feeders. This way, we can split the costs as well as broaden our experience with chameleons asi have yet to meet anybody here who knows about...

Ghann's Crickets... how many should I get?

I do indeed feed and breed dubia. I'll probably go with 500 if I go with Ghann's route. My cham will eat about 40 crickets a week or so. I'm sure the size of the cricket would make a difference, but i'm not 100% what to get because at the pet store there are only "small" or "large" cricks...

Ghann's Crickets... how many should I get?

Hi guys, I have only one chameleon but was wondering if it would be okay if I got 1000 5/8" crickets at a time so I wouldn't have to buy again for a while. I read that crickets do much better when bought from a reputable dealer rather than most commercial pet stores. I also want to buy a lot...

Need to replace the Bottom of a Reptibreeze

I've replaced my bottom with plexiglass lately for my chams old reptii breeze 18x18x36 enclosure that I now use for outside use. You can buy the glass and get it cut to the correct dimensions right there. Remember thiugh that you need the piece of glass to be a little smaller than 18x18" so...

    Lighting systems

Hi there's light your reptiles like you suggested which offers a double or quad fixture for UVB and a 6500 k bulb. Another one that's popular that I have also owned is the reptisun 5.0. It's a good light but the Arcadia lighting from light your reptiles is so much brighter...

Too much to climb on or not enough?

I feel like my Cham has a pretty good variety of things to climb on. There's the schefflera, the 2 pothos, a few good sized curly willow branches, a bit of bamboo, and jungle vine. All different shapes and sizes that range from sorta slippery to super grippy and climbable

Too much to climb on or not enough?

How do you rough it up? I normally see has sandpaper as something used to make things more smooth. I'll definitely try it out though; thanks dog.

    Crickets not gut loading?

Good suggestion. I have the water crystals In a very shallow dish Right next to the leafy greens and fruits. Would the majority agree that it's not necessary to have both? They seem to not really go after either. Would 100 crickets plow through just as well? I have roaches and they actually seem...

Too much to climb on or not enough?

Haha ok, so anything but bamboo in other words. It is indeed quite slick. Darn, I have so much of it too :/ I noticed that when I added the really grippy vines from Petco that he uses those a lot more and prefers to sleep on those since its a better grip. I'll definitely replace the majority of...

Too much to climb on or not enough?

Thanks for the input; I appreciate it. He uses the curly Willow branches mostly for basking. What would you suggest I use instead? MOST of the bamboo is fresh from my backyard. I'm not so sure about some of it because I got some from mulhalls.

    Crickets not gut loading?

I only feed my crickets a variety of wet gutload items such as leafy greens (collards, mustard, escarole/endive) and fruits (papaya, apple). I have as much as 100 crickets or so to begin with since I only have one chameleon and it never looks like they eat it. I think I'm going to try something...
