Is there a lock on it or a lever that slides in that keeps it depressed? Mine has a lever that I push forward after pressing it down that keeps it spraying.
I believe there is a list on here of the plants that can be put in with them. For plants you can feed them specifically usually it is stuff like collard greens. I believe in the nutrition section there is also information on this.
If he is shedding small parts of his body then this is fine. Chameleons basically are always shedding as adults just in small amounts. If he is shedding a lot of his body then this will likely end soon as with adults shedding is slower. I wouldn't worry about it, just make sure humidity is high...

Well he is new to you so he is readjusting so that can take a while. Also maybe give him a few days to settle in then try cup feeding. He may be used to that if he was always in a cage where the crickets couldn't be free ranged. Also don't feed Mealworms as most members say they cause impaction.

I would guess that in the wild they would take cover so that there is heavy plant growth above and below them so that no predatory birds can see them if they are at the top and they are also covered from arboreal predators below. Therefore with the cover above the moon shouldn't shine on them...

Could you maybe search for an alternative to screen. Something he couldn't climb on or at least not need nails for that allows airflow and use that for the walls. Glass or plastic but you would need a way to increase airflow.
