I second this!! You did everything right - listened, learned, and the most important thing is that you were receptive and open to constructive feedback. This is a fantastic example of how a newcomer to the hobby can make adjustments and can have a happy, healthy chameleon. You have a model...
I actually did get the colored lights and then hated the way they lit up my pretty plants so I returned them and got sansi lights which are safe for my littles’ eyes!
For future reference, you can just fill out the husbandry questions on this forum (for both chams) that way everything is in one place and the experts can access it a little easier. I am not an expert, but I can start to help you with a few things. As @kinyonga said, more detail would be great...
I would suggest also filling out the husbandry information for both of your chameleons and including pictures of them both along with both of their enclosures. That way everyone can have all the relevant information necessary to help you with proper husbandry :)
Hey!! You made it! To others: I brought them from Reddit over here to get help.
I have your enclosure photos in a PM but it would help to post them here, even though you already know you need a Reptibreeze XL.
I see what you mean. The big difference with a drippers “standing water” vs a glass, is that the dripper is covered and outside the enclosure, the water bowl or glass is inside the enclosure and is open, exposed to poops, bugs, etc…I am opposed to the suggestion of water bowls because unless...
here’s my post to someone asking about their chameleon, and then someone else’s response to mine. Notice how mine is downvoted x5 and theirs is upvoted x5…that place is so bass ackwards it is ridiculous.
I’ve always thought that subreddit was FULL of misinformation and was perpetuated by the the mods who for whatever reason seem to have a severe lack of knowledge of proper husbandry. It baffles me. And people go there for advise and get the worst advise possible.
Hi!!
Thatcher is correct, that is indeed a Hoya Carnosa. I have seen a few people say they keep Hoya in their cages, I’ll refer you to this image of another post about the same topic, likely the one Thatcher looked at.
If you have a plant eater, I’d probably steer clear, and honestly, there...
Thank you :) You have a really great point! It’s definitely interesting how the cham keeping hobby can open people into a whole world of other things. I definitely will not be bug farming lmao!! And I have the handiness of a plastic spoon, but at least I don’t kill plants! 😂
@Beman @OldWorldChams thank you guys so much! I wasn’t sure if they would be bothered by just being able to see it or not. I’ll go ahead and grab them then :)
Hi everyone!
So in my cham room is also where I keep my plants, as chameleon keeping has turned me into a hardcore botanist and I am collecting far too many plants to keep up with. Across from my chams I have a shelf and wanted to get a grow light to put on it, but I’m wondering if that would...
