Just to update you, I have placed him on his sleeping vine again and turned off the uvb and he is now sleeping.
Still worried why he was doing that, I know I've only had him for 6 days but he done the exact same thing every night apart from tonight.
So I might be overreacting here but I thought I'd double check with you guys anyway.
I have had Pickle for 6 days now and every night I turn his heat lamp off at 7:15pm, he then makes his way over to the one vine that he sleeps on before I turn off his Uvb light at 7:30pm
He has been a happy...
Haha so true, I feel so bad because he runs away so fast I get nervous he will fall, he does eventually sit hidden in his plant grumpy and accepting it
That's great! If you do purchase him just keep in mind that if the others are unhealthy then there is likely some health issues brewing that might not yet be visable.
It is up to you to decide if you can handle taking on a most likely unhealthy cham but in my opinion I would take on the...
*Update*
He is doing very well today again, eating plenty and basking with his eyes open. He has also pooped a few more times, one of them had a completely white urate with no orange! Couldn't be more happier seening that. Even though he hates me spraying him directly it seems to be keeping him...
If the Chameleons you saw looked sickly it's not a good idea to purchase one especially if you do not a have a specialised vet you can go to, sounds like a bad recepie to me.
It might be worth branching out and seeing if there are any specialised vets further out from where you are that you...
I agree, those plants look difficult to climb, I would probably look a getting a more climbable plant in there (e.g umbrella or pothos) plus added branches and vines at all different levels and angles.
Hello, I don't actually know the reptile centre in Northampton, I'm in a town near by.
Thats great thank you, in need of a good place to get my feeders, I ordered some online that I think came from Nottingham and most of them turned up dead. Is swell reptiles near by?
I have a young veiled and so far he has been very friendly, he is a little hesitant to being handled but then willing climbs on and shows no stress at all. He only occasionally gets pantsy when I'm looking at him for too long and he has hissed at my little sister that came over to visit when she...
No of course, I understand, you've been a great help! I was really worried getting him so small but he does seem to be quite Hardy and the tiny horrible cage he had him in made me think he might be better off with me, I don't think they ever watered him, just had a water bowlin there.
Im going...
Thank you so much for your help, as mentioned in my previous response he seems to doing fine today, hopefully this continues!
Would you suggest just keeping him on fruit flies for now then? As I have just got my micro silent brown crickets that are currently gutloading?
Thanks for the advice!
I do have 2 ventilation holes on the bottom back panel and 2 on the top and also the roof of the viv is screen. Would you advise this is enough ventilation?
He has not closed his eyes once today and is back to being very active so I'll keep an eye him but he seems fine...
Thank you for your feedback its much appreciated.
I have a lower wattage bulb and a themometer gun coming as I don't trust the temps the analog is giving me and I'll see how I go from there. I do also have his highest basking spot about 12" away from the lamp so it usually doesn't get higher...
