    Could she be about to shed? I would wait and see. Make sure her appetite and feces are normal, and be sure she's hydrated. If it spreads/worsens I'd take her to the vet, but as long as she is acting normal I think she'll be okay. Also try gently touching the spot to see if it seems like it's...

    Maybe you can try hand feeding him the insect... if he hisses or gapes try just plopping one in his mouth? Just make sure he doesn't choke...
