I use an organic potting soil with no mulch or fertilizers. I also add a leaf litter layers. I like to think it helps prevent any soil injestion but have never really ever seen an sign or even that, and I think it looks nicer.
I've had very little issues with LLL, I know someone who works at their warehouse & they do treat for parasites. Although I would highly recommend Tiki Geckos or Snakes at Sunset. The only issue would have now is how cold it us. I live in NJ and am waiting for warmer weather to get a Phelsuma...
I know some people have kept hoehnelli together in pairs but is difficult. As someone's who's breed day geckos, anoles & lacertas, Chameleons are very different than geckos. They closest I would say are to Anoles. A CB Jacksons or Veiled or Panther is probably ur best best, The Jacksonii...
