Many species have been saved from extinction by captive breeding. Examples include:
Guam rails
black-footed ferrets
California condors
Przewalski’s horses
scimitar-horned oryx
Partula snails
Spix’s macaws
A goal of some captive breeding programs may also be to reintroduce...
Thanks!
I just found another one on the ground. He had a clear sock over his head and left arm. He could not use his arm or open his eyes.
I rehydrated the sock and slowly pulled it off. He seems to be doing fine now.
Jason.
My guys are doing great! I'm still waiting on 2 gravid jacksonii.jacksonii and 2 gravid hoehnelii. I can't imagine that these big girls have much longer to go.
Here are a few pics from last week!
From what I've seen the whole import was exceptional.
All of my jacksonii.jacksonii are looking good. (Fingers crossed) I've had no health issues so far. The babies were all born healthy and hungry.
One of my three hoehnelii didn't make it, the other two look great and seem to be gravid...
I have a couple male and female Yellow bodied red bar Ambilobes sired by some of the best bloodlines available.
The sire is Apollo owned by Dustin Watkins. Apollo's sire is Crossroads. Crossroads sire is Devine Touch.
The sire of the dame is Sentinel.
Males are $250 plus shipping
Females...
I'm going with johnstoni. Both the females and the males have equallly increadible colors. They also have outstanding social personalities.
I'm also starting to really appreciate jacksonii.jacksonii. The females can have 3 or 1 horn and are live bearers! No eggs to go bad!
