The black spots/stripes are because he is stressed like "JimmySpinks" said. It also means he is angry/scared. I have a male veiled chameleon too and I read up on the color changes for them and the moods and this was one of them. So no worries for you there! He is new so you don't want to mess...

Thank you so much for your advice and with some more informational links for me :) I will take a look at them! And yes my Calcium has D3 in it. I was dusting the crickets with the Calcium every feeding and then I read up on that I should dust the feeders with Vit every other feeding or so? But...
