I’m guessing that when the uv is angled, it’s running parallel to the basking branch with looks to be angled too, maybe that’s the reason for the increase? I wouldn’t know, just a thought? I’ve got all this to come 😆
branches cleaned with soap and water and a stiff brush, gave them a dam good scrubbing, that induced a sweat I can tell you, had a little play around yesterday with pot and branch placement before I foam everything in, ended up using a mixture of different shapes and sizes with everyone having a...
Hi, yea I scraped the idea of bleach and went with soap and water and stiff brush, I’ve used Sticks ranging from small to one inch max and funnily enough was doing some pot and plant placement only yesterday to see how everything sits before foaming in.
For me I think I’ll have trouble keeping the humidity down in the day, I’ve got a meter up where I’m going to put the terrarium and it’s sitting at 50 most days, will just have to see, I’m looking to get mine end of July as I’ve got to go back to uk for a couple weeks so don’t want to get him...
I would only entertain the 75/100wt if I go with the dimmer option that way I can run them down to the right temperature, not really concerned about how much light it throws as it will probably end up along side a plant light
I was going to affix a temperature probe on the basking branch maybe a inch above the branch as will be juvenile to take into consideration the back of your Cham and then wind the wheel up and down accordingly until I get it right, was thinking of a 75w or 100w I’m undecided on this, all i know...
Only seen one which is a zoo med there’s a wheel on the switch I believe for dimming, got to be a good thing as opposed to switching different bulbs in and out through the different seasons, or raising the unit up and down
Great that you took them in and gave them a home, the names are cool, I keep rescuing cats and name them after Xmen, Raven, storm,Eric,Charles and Logan currently, must stop now but I’m a soft touch like that, I probably care for animals more than some people 😆 dogs are called Rose, cookie and...
So after some research I find that a very effective way of ridding red mite is by using a predator mite, there are 2 species called Androlis and Taurrus, they will decimate other mite and there only food source is other mite! Easily controlled as when food source is gone they die out, be mindful...
Just a quickie, has anyone ever tried using an alternative heating method regarding basking? I ask because I recently made another brooder for chicks and opted for a heater tube, like the ones used In greenhouse,,worked really well through a thermostat and was certainly more energy efficient and...
Thanks all I’ll have a better look at position when I have everything on top and have a play around see what sits best where, will go with a narrow deep holder ideally with a dimmer function that Way I can use a more powerful bulb and adjust it accordingly through the different seasons without...
I get loads of hornets here, Asian one is currently decimating the bees, so tell me if a hornet wasp etc got in with your chameleon in an outdoor enclosure you wont be worried? It would eat it no problem?
Anyone feed maybugs? I get loads in My moth trap this time of year, got me thinking, a nice little treat maybe?
what would you suggest was a good staple to farm yourself considering I’m a novice in this department, was going to farm some mealworms seemed easy enough, but I know these are just...
