My two cents: horizontal branches or vines closer to the lights. Important to let Chameleon control amount of exposure he wants to have for heat (temp gradient) and UVB. UVB light is only effective when chameleon is very close to the light. :)
Don’t slit the egg. In my experience, that has never ended well. Are you using an incubator? Did your friend use an incubator? That could make the difference in timing. Eggs without incubator take longer to hatch.
Female Chams turn black with yellow coloration when they are gravid (pregnant) and there is a male in their view. It is there way of telling the male that his job is done and the shop is closed. If no male is in their view, they will go back to green...
My Amazon account was hacked a year ago. Nothing was purchased but about ten fake reviews were made using my account. The fake reviews were pretty believable.
My Veiled Chameleons eggs take about 10 months to hatch without using an incubator. I hear that eggs in an incubator will hatch sooner.... but I’m fine waiting the extra time and avoiding the hassle of dealing with an incubator.
Also, all those leaves that you have hanging from the top I believe could be blocking the UVB rays from reaching your chameleon unless he is directly under the UVB light.
I agree about moving the branches at the top further down. Veiled chameleons are notorious for scraping their casques along the top of the cage which can cause wounds or burns.
What kind of Chameleon? I breed Veiled chameleons and I don’t use an incubator. I hear lots of stories of incubators that malfunction and kill all the eggs.
I agree about letting the chameleons walk on top of the eggs… I believe that is helpful. However, sometimes for whatever reason only about 75% of my eggs will hatch even though the remainding eggs look just fine… The remaining eggs just sit there and eventually shrivel up. Other times all of the...
I believe that in addition to showing off to females, the water runs down from the top of the cask to the snout and then mouth… When it is walking amongst leaves that have moisture on them
