Chameleon Staying near bottom of enclosure

Hello, i have a 5 month old veilled. He is very friendly and has a great personality. He eats 7 crickets (dusted) 5 times a week. He is given his usual supplementation. His legs and arms are straight and stiff so i dont see any signs of MBD. I do know that MBD can come as a suprise. Recently he...

    Shedding

DO NOT assist the chameleon during their shedding stages! My vet told me that helping the chameleon by pulling off skin MAY cause the under (New Skin) to rip off. This will cause infections and serious medical problems. My chameleon likes to wait a day or two before he starts rubbing himself on...

New Owner, Can't Tell if Cham is Hydrating

I have heard a humidifier is great but it is definitely not an exception for misting. As long as the chameleon looks hydrated and shows signs of hydrations then he/she is fine. Try and mist your chameleon just enough that the cage looks moist and not dry. I actually mist my chameleon's cage...

New Owner, Can't Tell if Cham is Hydrating

She does look healthy. I recommend a dripper. The little/big drippers are amazing and so worth it, you can get them at most pet stores. I got one at a reptile store and my chameleon loves it. It always provides water in case they missed the misting. And she is beautiful. Good luck with everything <3

New Owner, Can't Tell if Cham is Hydrating

I know personally that chameleons don't like to drink around their owners... i have walked in on him drinking water from the leaves multiple times but he stops when he sees me. Unless you can see any signs of dehydration it isn't really something to be worried about as they do absorb some...

    Is this MBD?

The chameleon will need the D3 but only 2 times a month because the UVB lamp will help the cham produce its own D3! But they still need a boost of D3 every 2 weeks! They will need calcium in their everyday diet as well!

    crusty nostril

I am not sure about the information but i will do some more research for you... i know that the white crust is excess salts that the chameleon is removing from its system. I also know that there are many reasons for this amount of salt. The chameleon may not be hydrated enough and needs to drink...

    Does she look healthy?

"She looks a lot older than 2.5 months to me. My first thought was she is gravid. A really young veiled is a solid light green--no patterns. They have little thin spindly legs. That is no 2.5 month old." I agree, she does look a lot older than 2 months... I recommend finding her age as it is...

    Sneazing???

My chameleon is only 4 months old and sometimes a hear a little burst of air from his nostrils (I believe) as if he was sneezing... do chameleons sneeze? Is he sick? Should I be worried? This happens about 2 times a day (When I am around). He gets sprayed 3 times a day (my auto mister was...

    Terrarium & Terrarium Cleaning

Hello my chameleon is about 4 months old and i want to give him the best and healthiest life... i have heard that they can get sick from the nasty bacteria in the terrarium. I have also heard there is a cleaner or disinfectant i can buy. Are there any brands you recommend? Or any brands you...

    Feeder Cricket Gutloading

Hello, So my cham is 4 months old and he eats 8 crickets 5 days a week. I have noticed and learned that crickets need to be TOTALLY gutloaded to provide benifits to the cham. I feed my crickets either carrot or apple slices. I was wondering if i would buy a cricket gutload food from a petstore...
