Thank you! Wandering Jew and hibiscus are my favorites, looking forward to adding them into my enclosure in the future!
I thought spiderwort was an inchplant, but I just called it a spiderwort because that's also it's name haha!
All pots have adequate drainage - trust me after those gnats I...
Thanks for all the suggestions guys!! I ended up going to Home Depot yesterday and got two spiderwort, a polka dot plant, and an African violet! I absolutely want to get a wandering Jew and even the pretty looking Madagascar jasmine in the future but I’d have to order those and it’s horrendously...
Thanks for the suggestions! I already have my centerpiece plant (which is a schefflera) and two pothos. I was just looking for some additional foliage to break up all the green :)
Hey everyone! I'm looking to add some (safe) and natural color to my enclosure - and what better of a way to do so than with flowers! Well...I guess that's pretty much the only natural safe way one could add color, but I digress. I'm looking for either suggestions or recommendations or both for...
Is this something you’d have to check with your vet to see if they “accept” it? From what I’ve read it sounds like you go to the appointment and pay as you usually would and then submit the bill/receipt to your insurance and they reimburse you with what they cover?
Hey! Welcome! I’m a new owner too and have been going through some enclosure changes and I have to say I LOVE the floating enclosure look you’ve got going on…I might just have to figure out a way to do this myself. Your enclosure overall looks perfect :)
Thanks for the advise @MissSkittles and @Klyde O'Scope! my plan is to get that soil along with some river rock and sand and do what that post I linked to said, in addition to making or buying a cham safe gnat trap and hopefully that’ll do the trick!
So from some of my research I have found that a hydrogen peroxide solution can be sprayed on the soil of plants to kill eggs and gnats. Is this something that I can/should do? Either before I repot them in good soil or keep them in the current stuff? I would think that in theory it would be fine...
Thanks for the reply! Do you remember where you got the garden soil and what brand it is?
So a week or so ago I noticed this gross white buildup on the river rocks in my potted plants (see attached pictures) since then I have removed the rocks and the top bit of soil and started using filtered...
Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. I have a couple botany questions I wanted to ask the pros here. After butchering the majority of my pothos and nursing some clippings back to health and getting a couple new plants, I can say that I am doing OK with the plant care side of chameleon...
Hi! Welcome!
I too am a new owner and have been here in the forums for a bit and let me tell you - you are in the right place! While I am not an expert, I can give you a form that I copied from another post. If you fill this out and provide pics of your setup and cham, then those who are more...
Hey everyone! Hope you’re all staying safe in this winter storm that’s ripping through the east coast! I noticed today that there was some gross white crust that almost looks like sandpaper or coral on the soil of my plants. It doesn’t look like mold that I’m used to but who knows, it could be...
Oh this is great to know! I just wasn’t sure if it was cause for concern, but I’m glad you cleared that up. I will definitely do that with the basking spot, thanks a lot :)
@Klyde O'Scope Hey! I’m tagging you because I know you’re familiar with these lights but anyone else who is please feel free to chime in!
So these lights are awesome but holy crap are they BRIGHT! My cham likes to use it as a basking light but it’s so bright that when he’s angled towards it he...
That’s really interesting! Thank you for explaining it. How would one go about achieving this in their enclosure? This isn’t really for myself I’m just curious 🤣
