Here is my sweet girl, Venus. Had her about 2 months. She is so friendly and patient with me as I tweak things and learn. She definitely
Knows she’s the apple of my eye and is currently on strike from eating crickets since she got a taste for super worms. She also wants everyone to know that she...
Just wanted to bump with a quick question about any plants in general:
I have a hard time having a lot of plants towards the top of my enclosure because I think the bright light from my sansi grow light and the UVB fry them a little bit. Anyone have suggestions for some hardier plants that...
Hey all! Hope everyone is well. I recently got some blue bottle fly larvae from mantis place (such a great site!) and they all hatched into flies. My cham loves them but I’m having some difficulty figuring out how to properly house them and what to feed them. I’ve looked online and have found...
I completely understand. Always better to be safe than sorry! I will just use those plants in my home and will get some others that I won’t use rooting hormone in for her. Thanks for the cautionary advise.
Not that it makes any difference now, but I did want to clarify that I would be using the root hormone to root them in water, then once they are ready for soil, rinse the roots off and plant them in clean organic soil, so there would be no direct contact between my cham and the hormone. Just...
I also wanted to ask one last thing - is it safe to use rooting hormone on cuttings and then once they’re rooted to put them into the enclosure? Basically asking if this stuff will come out of the leaves and hurt the cham?
Thanks for the pointers! Would you suggest that I avoid hanging plants from the top just in general?
What are your thoughts on the coroplast idea? I'm just worried she wouldn't see the lay bin if it was over it. I do have bamboo around the inner sides like little cheap dragon ledges and they...
Another question or two. BTW I washed the play sand because why not 😆
Firstly, how do you keep water out of your lay bins? I checked after a few days and it was full of water. I tried to drill some holes for drainage but now sand just comes out of it like there's no tomorrow. The bit I used was...
Are you near a lowes or Home Depot? Lowes usually has a clearance rack that you can get some good plants that are 50% off. Even aside from clearance they still have good inexpensive plants. I’d give an umbrella plant another try, that might be the perfect size for the babies. That or a grape ivy...
That’s all great to know, and it’s even better that I can take that ugly heat lamp off of the top. I’ll continue to monitor it and her behavior to make sure she’s getting the right things. Thank you for the help 😁
