Without having read the whole thread I have two questions for you: 1. Are you regularly watering them? 2. Do you have a light specifically for plant growing? This is very likely an issue with water and/or light.

There are also people who use automatic plant watering systems such as this one. I have heard that some have had great success with this and if you’re looking for something similar to what Beman was doing, it might be worth checking out!

Ok first of all, you should consider yourself lucky - hoehnelii are amazing chameleons! And you have a stunner!! As for the hissing, it looks to me like he’s just hissing and trying to be a big, tough boy. Though I am by no means an expert. I wouldn’t worry.

Could something be stuck in its throat? Choking? I believe when chameleons choke they hang upside down. Has he been flailing or writhing at all?
