Sorry there's nothing wrong with my chameleon but i didn't know where else to post. I read somewhere 2 years ago when i firts got my veiled that they get to about 2ft long and shedding slows down or stops. well my cham is 2 1/2 years old and is ALWAYS shedding. I up and up and up the humidity...
thats what i have is a 4ft tall one. just one plant though, allbeit a very big plant. it's dropped most of it's leaves and is sprouting tons of new ones at the very top right under his heat light. so i know light is the problem. how do you have your light set up? so far everyone seems to do it...
that's what i thought. i mean it says that it can be used in a dome. they just are saying not to box it in. anyway if i was to use a dome fixture and set it on the cage it would probably produce too much heat you think? between that and his 75w heat lamp i would worry about it making the higher...
the ceiling is about 2ft away from the top of the cage. do you think 2ft would be too far away if i put it on the ceiling? although im kind of clueless how i would go about getting it mounted to the ceiling lol
this is from the product description for the 40watt spotlight, straight from lightyourreptiles.com
"These have a standard screw in e27 ligh bulb base. They work in any standard dome fixture, socket, drop light or clamp on light."
I was looking into getting a good bulb because the plants inside my chams cage have mostly died due to not enough light. But there is a 3 1/2 ft tall pothos in his cage, he's in the zoomed large screened cage. What i am wondering is what wattage of jungle dawn should i get? Would the 40w be too...
yesh like an X shape on 3 sides except the front which would be the door. with a wood frame around the top it should be able to support the two lamps with no problem
i wouldnt use both because id be afraid it would block out too much light from his lamps. we are literally just going to rebuild it without mesh. its just too flimsy. it tore in every spot where i tied vines to it. so there's holes everywhere. i also dont know what you mean how would i make it...
No his cage is on main display in the kitchen, we live in a small house, there's no where else to put him, and no way to keep the cats away. we have had him for 2 years now and they only are just now showing interest. mainly they just want to be up there cause its up high as theyve been climbing...
the thing is the cats are doing it at night when we are asleep so there isnt nything i can do about it.
we are really wanting to just rebuild the entire cage. will chicken wire work or is there a smaller wire you recommend? i dont want to go back to mesh or screen because it tears so easily...
My cham is in a regular 4x4x4 mesh cage but my cats have tried climbing it, leaving large gashes. Is there any way to patch this?
If not, would it be okay to build a chicken wire cage? What are the do's and the don'ts of that and will it effect the lighting?
I need help i'm not sure what to do...
