Sleeping Chameleons: What do they prefer?

Chams usually like to sleep where they feel secure and protected, which would mean that some thick foliage covering is preferred. Hammocks work, some chameleons will use them and others won't, but if you choose to provide one I'd put it somewhere that's well covered.

But for the time being, provide the more nutritious diet that you would give a female. The additionally food and vitamins will so far less harm to a male as opposed to a female that becomes egg-bound due to the lack of it.

Usually it's a good way to tell. Nosys are hard though.....but males tend to have that thick tail base and the "straight line" body. I can't say for sure, only time will tell

    Chameleon has one eye closed

@Surferchick I would for sure get rid of the black light, chams respond to light in order to determine if they should be up or asleep. Most likely, he's getting a little confused at night because he's tired but the light may make him think it is still daytime. I turn off all lights in my room at...

Unfortionatly a lot of reptiles, especially chameleons, end up mistreated at pet stores. They're often kept in tiny glass enclosures that aren't tall enough and don't get fed the correct supplements. My newest boy, Majic, is now 4 months old and I rescued him from a local pet store. His forearms...

    Fogger/mister suggestions

Yeah, doesn't look too bad. Also appears to be in stores so if there's one near you then you don't have to pay for shipping. Looks like the set up is about as easy as you can get, too

If you have a screen cage, put some shower curtain around the sides. That really helps maintain higher humidity levels without have the mister running constantly.

    Shoe laces as vines?

Ultimately, its your choice, but I personally prefer to only incorporate misc items in free range areas.

    Shoe laces as vines?

Depends, if your panther is still a baby/possibly smaller juvenile, and they can safely support your Chameleon's weight. Mine like to climb on my thick headphone cords, but I only let them when I'm cleaning and have to remove them from the enclosures. Make sure that the laces are clean too
