That is just how chameleons are. Theirs not going to be any changing him. You could try hand feeding to help. Its likely to get worse as he matures, especially with him being a veiled.

It really doesn't matter what you use.. As long as it has a reflector (small or large) and works, you're just fine.

You can just use a dome reflector with a regular incandescent bulb. Start with a 60W and see where your temps are at. I always put mine directly on the screen, but many people put them a few inches away form the screen.

A tiny bit of orange is fine IMHO. None of my chams had solid white urates no matter how much water I gave them. All were fully hydrated. He looks good to me!

Everyone that is giving advise about the glass enclosure.. Glass is not a bad way to keep chameleons, as long as they are Terrariums, and not aquariums. They just need to be set up correctly. Please go read the thread by Chris Anderson on this subject. its a very long thread with great info...
