Well we’re more or less done. Fogger is made, and all in and hooked up, CliMist mister is installed, drainage is plumbed underneath, 80mm fans for circulation are installed on the top, and I’ve got a couple plants in. Still need the UVB and basking lights, and need to get all the branches in...
Got the acrylic cut and in this weekend. The sides pieces are siliconed in, and the fronts are on slider tracks. Just need to install some handles for them. All that’s left is to refit the dividers now that glass is in, get the mister set up, lighting, and plant it. Sooo close!!
Well… I started the drainage today and it about killed me to put holes in this thing!! Got 3 draines siliconed in, and got the holes cut for the fogging system. Need to buy 1 more part before I can finalize plumbing the fogger, but it’s starting to come together.
I put the fogger heads on the...
Still wonky on the inserts because I Havnt done anything more since my last update, just took a pic with a jungle dawn turned on to show it a little better.
Good morning. I went this route with a cage last year for the same reason. I used black corrugated plastic on the side facing the wall and the back. I used double sided tape along the outside aluminum frame of the cage and just stuck it to it. You could easily do the same thing on the inside if...
Update. I built the top and got the divider inserts mostly done….
The top. Half way during the build I had the idea to make the top removable. This allows for a few things.
1, if the screen ever gets ripped and needs replaced, it’s a lot easier to do so by taking the top off and working on the...
Well.. I’ve literally been building this in my head for 15 years. Small ideas and adjustments here and there. I’m 2/3 of the way done at this point and couldn’t help but at least share a little now that it’s in my house!
The cage itself is 24” deep, 54” wide, and 48” tall. It will have glass...
Happy New Year everyone!
With the new year, what is everyone’s CHAMELEON related goals? Do you have plans to try a new species? Hatch your first clutch? Breed your own colonies of something?
This hobby has so many directions someone could go. From very basic, to extremely technical and time...
Fred is actually a clutch mate to the female I’ll be purchasing. I hope she throws nice males like Fred, he’s turning out spectacular.
Yeah Nate, we can revive Kinyongia Chameleon Keepers! (Blast from the past that a few peeps like Jeremy will remember!) would be nice to have someone to...
Yessir absolutely. I’ll create a thread for the build once I complete it, and I’ll also start a thread to track to Boehmei progress all together so it can be a compiled resource for someone later.
For now, here is a picture of a rough sketch of the build. I’ve had this in my head since I had...
That actually brings up a question I have for you! You’ve always been heavy with Veilds, and you had that one Orange Eye Parsons I can remember. Have you ever kept any other species? Or do you just like the Veilds so much you choose to stick with them?
Yep that’s where my male will be coming from as I’ve had no luck on any of the FB groups or anywhere else locating a male. My CB female, is coming from someone that got WC pairs from underground and said they were in great shape when he got them.
I am building custom enclosures for these...
Could it possibly be a vitamin A deficiency? This can cause eye issues as well. I had a panther about 12 years ago that that was the cause for a similar issue. Might want to search the forums a bit for information related to that. I can’t 100% recall how I administered it. But if I remember...
Very interesting! I wish I woulda thought about the animal heat pad a long time ago! My wife loves them but they’re frustrating because of the auto shut off.. guess I’ll get one for my bins and one for my wife lol.
