Hey guys. This female is about a year old this month. At first I thought this was just her juvenile colors, but she hasn't seemed to grow out of them. What do you think?
The last 2 shipments of crix I have received have both died off within two days. Extremely frustrating when I used to be able to feed them off for 3 weeks with very little mortality.
At that length of time there should have been a partially formed (at least) neo. Either that egg was bad to begin with or something happened that made the embryo no longer viable.
I would scrap that colony and start over. But I'm paranoid like that. It could possibly be some sort of parasite that could infect you. You may be able to send them to your local zoo for identification.
Pssh- thanks, I was looking for a number that is commonly accepted.
Kinyonga- that makes sense as I think that is most accurate as to what they would experience naturally.
I'm still curious if there is a breeding season in Madagascar.
