Wow ? she’s been eating well, this morning she ate 3 Black soldier flies and a couple of crickets and at lunch she ate 3 crickets. Her urates are still white and she’s active when not basking.
Hi all,
I had a postnatal check up with my vet today, and she was concerned about how bloated my Cham is (I’ll post pictures below)
a couple of days after giving birth, she seemed to loose a lot of the bloat and it wasn’t until the doc pointed it out, that I saw it. She used a stethoscope...
I strongly suggest not using feeder insects as a means of getting meds to your Chameleon. I had a Senegal with coccidia and I used crickets and black soldier flies and when his mouth was open shot the meds in. He then associated the insects with the meds making him very sick and refused to eat...
Amazing! Thank you for sharing. I’m a massive Arcadia fan. I did a lot of research before upgrading and found a research paper where they took multiple beardy babies and split them in into groups and for a 120 days they subjected each group to different brands of uvb, using the sun as a control...
That was a fantastic analogy that has given me much food for thought. This will give my vet and I something to debate when I see her Tue. I’m taking my adult veiled in for an x-ray to test for bone density, as a control subject against some other x-rays that have been done over the last few...
I do not have one, it’s on the list though. Do you have some links you could share on uvb, your knowledge is much higher than mine and I’d like to up my uvb understanding. I’ve only been keeping reptiles for 2 years and most of my research has been on medical issues and treatments, bio active...
@Kaizen Now that is the damn truth! I chose to spend the money on climate controlling all 22 of my main reptiles vivs so that I give less money to the hydro company. Lol
Thank you the awesome advice @Kaizen and @bobcochran and apologies for the late response. I finally had time to listen to bobs podcasts, a ton of great information in there as well as some delightfully controversial topics which I may weigh in on in a different post. I do however share the...
Thank you @bobcochran , this is totally going to make me up my UV game. I think I’m going to stick with Arcadia, but I’ll be doing a lot of research and you’ve given me some great things to consider. Im thinking there are probably 2-3 months of the year I’ll be able to keep them outside where I...
Thank you @bobcochran fortunately I had picked up 2 zoo med foggers at the weekend, so I’ve been hand misting them after lights out and again before lights on, until I decide how I want to set them all up properly
It’s interesting you place them from the Nairobi area, as that’s actually what we...
