@Chris
For the pardalis with the melleri like horn, there were eventually 2 born, he breeded further with these females, but none of all their offspring produced these kind of small horns.
The same guy now btw does have really nice looking pardalis females, from nosy fally, those ladies are...
What is the recommended dosage for Vit. A in terms of micro gram/ gram weight for reptiles/chameleons? (if there is any?)
I looked for humans (ofcourse no chameleon) it is i read 600 ug. (http://www.lenntech.com/recommended-daily-intake.htm)
More then 9000 milligrams gives side affects in...
I guess that chance is small, as i see now.
Since its not that one will easily breed many of them, like with pardalis, due to mortality rate of pregnant females.
They are easily sold here as well. but never say never...
First let me focus on getting this year cycle round again with a few...
Hi Timo,
Nice to see you on this forum.
You did very well growing them up, around 11 months till adulthood as do my own.
For me also it is still hard, for the females not to go eggbound. (all the rest is relatively easy with this species, mating, incubation (8 degrees/6weeks))
A female...
Good to know it works without pinholes as well.
Actually even a plastic box when sealed isn't oxygen tight, water and oxygen diffuse through commonly used PET material, though not a lot as well.
So still a little oxygen will diffuse through. The water will as well but so small that it is...
@fluxlizard, if i understand correct, without pinholes, no oxygen can diffuse into the container in your case if i understand correct?
(i have always been wondering or that would work, thanks for the info)
I know they really must have a low oxygen demand, reptiles in general(because they are...
Infertile eggs never stay good for long time, maximum a few weeks, not months.
If there is nothing inside after like in this case 9 months, this is due to a diapause that was missing, these eggs are fertile!
For the other pearly white eggs a thing you can do is keep the eggs colder again, 18...
The single horn Xantholophus females can have, i think should be noted as a severly degraded horn. (<10mm?)
I ever had a xant female with 3 horns, but also very degraded, 5-10mm maximum i think.
Around 7-10 years ago the Xants imported by a belgium importer differed a lot, from those imported...
i like small sized vermiculite best, and burry the eggs under it, so not on top.
Perlite has worked for me too.
I'll tell you a little trick ;-)
When you have to add water every 2 weeks that is not the best you can do.
Thats is unstable, and might dry out, when you would not be looking for...
Looking for a male breeder Furcifer campani.
I have 1.3 but my male doesn't want to mate, looks like the females would like to mate. Got 1 clutch incubating but that will take till next year to get a possible breeder male out.
Buying or lending and we work something out is both fine for me...
72 fahrenheit is to my own expierience to high to have 100% development of the eggs/no synchronized hatching either.
A friend of mine had a few clutches at 74, and after a long time, dunno exactly but estimate 9 months, all the eggs still had no embryo inside, he then made them go into...
dont forget to apply a diapause, they dont need a very cool diapause, but for sure need one.
I would recommend around 6 weeks at 12 degrees celsius. (14 will do fine as well)
The Hershey case, can also have to do with stress. (from the other chams of the clutch)
Stress uses up calcium resources...
Also since he was the picky one of the nest, he might have had less to eat?
also the feeder insects themselves contain calcium, not only the dusting...
MDB seems to...
I thought it at first to, with the dots and the casque, spurs are indeed visible.
I though have at once had an adult female with spurs :-)
(highly exceptional)
small crickets?
Size of the crickets should be the same as the distance: tip of the mouth -till were the mouth stops at the jaw....
If you feed smaller, they waste a lot of energy with their tongue muscle trying to get in small low energy preys.
They can even shoot larger ones ;-)
Look...
A good way sometimes is showing another male, if he gets angry at that male, he might be more interested afterwards. Try to let him then feel he wins, by keeping the 2nd male lower and removing from his area (territory) again.
If you have no 2nd male close by, try putting him in front of the...
Thanks Eliza, so can happen in jacksons also.
I had once 3 jackson females upto age 4/5 years in a room with 1 male.
Never anything happened, babies nor slugs. (the male never wanted to mate)
They have follicles inside which you can sometimes see when they bear the young... more on 2nd...3rd clutch when not mated again.
These are then not fertilized. look like eggs without shell, yellow and very soft.
just wondering or anyone ever had this with a live bearing species...
Temperature for sure plays a part in the reproductive cycle.
When i place here pardalis outside in summer, temperature is on average lower as would be inside the house.
Most females then do not want to mate anymore, although they were ready to made when inside, placing them outside, makes them...
@SeanUTD & @Elizadolots
If it is counter to what is thought on this forum, i can not help that :-)
I have been working with chameleons over the past 15 years, and the fact that i state that is from personal expierience.
I have had in that time around maybe 20 calyptratus females and 20...
