Do waxworms gut load on anything?

Just got my first batch and they are in some kind of straw medium. I'm planning on using as a treat, but wasn't sure if I should dust or gut load for maximum nutrition?

Bite pics ! Let's see them!

I've been trying to get my guy used to my hands in his cage. He lunges and and tries to bite almost every time. I've been presenting him with the top of my hand underneath him which he tries to bite but only succeeds in bouncing his face off the flat surface. I never try to grab him, and he...

    Encouraging stretching, bad or good?

I have been placing my veiled chameleon's feeding cup pretty low in his cage, and in different parts, as that encourages him to move up and down and around and get exercise, and it also requires him to look for his food if not really to hunt. He always empties his cup soon after I place it...

How do I know whats too fat, too skinny, or edemetous?

Oh, I apologize, having just tried again I am realizing that it wasn't your links that failed, it was the links within the threads you linked to me! LOL. I followed until I found one that had photos of fat pads, etc, and the links to the photos failed.

    Feeder ratios

Still trying to find the right feeding routine with enough variety and nutrition without getting the mix wrong...So far I'm feeding crickets, mealworms (last batch just to get rid of, as I'm hearing they are not great feeders), blue bottle flies and their larvae, black soldier fly larvae as I...

Thank you! Some of the links didn't work but I at least understand edema now

How do I know whats too fat, too skinny, or edemetous?

Sometimes reading other peoples posts causes me paranoia. Not that I'm really worried about my guy, but I'm wondering if all of these conditions are pretty obvious? Would I be able to recognize If I was over or underfeeding? Sometimes when he's stretchy he looks rather slim, and when he puffs...

Where to buy large plants/small indoor trees

Understood, lol. But my cham disagrees! Just recently tried to ditch the fake plant for a nice schleffera and he told me in no uncertain terms that he wants his old fakie back. He wouldn't spend any time in the real plant, just hovered pathetically on the fake bridge vine I had high up for...

Where to buy large plants/small indoor trees

I know you were probably looking for live plants, but I thought I would offer that medium size fake shrubbery can be found at places like hobby lobby. I found them really convenient because not only do they look pretty realistic, but you can maneuver the bendable branches how you like and they...

5 month old panther chameleon crashed and died in a 24 hour period-looking for potential culprits

How would you describe inappropriate hissing and puffing? Reading this is seeding my thoughts with worry, as I'm a new chameleon keeper, and my guy hisses and puffs pretty regularly if I invade his space...is this a bad sign? I thought he was just behaving like a chameleon.

Official Enclosure Picture Thread #2 - post your pics!

Thank you! I love the chance to build cabinets. They are so easy to do if you watch a few you tube videos and can handle power tools, and everything looks nice when everything has its place just so.

Anyone else planting in the bottom of the enclosures?

Does this setup sort of absorb the cham poop, or do you still have to locate and remove it?

How deep does bioactive have to be? I stopped looking into that because I was seeing people were commenting theirs were like 1 -2 feet deep. No can do

It was hard as all the greenery is in the way, but the best shot of the setup is from the side:

Thoughts on cham in the living room?

I'm new to this myself, but I do have mine set up in the living room, and, having not anticipated the problem, I chose a high traffic area. We also have two very large dogs and 4 cats. The cats are very interested, so I've designed his enclosure to sit high enough up that they have to...

Anyone else planting in the bottom of the enclosures?

I've been experimenting with my setup, and although I know many say not to have any substrate on the bottom, I was having difficulties with drainage (mostly because I'm unwilling so far to cut a drain into the bottom of my current set up, and also issues with smell when the wet meets cham poop...
