at what age do you start cutting back on supplementing? i use calcium plus every feeding on recommendation from Kammers, and my guy is about 11 months now so he eats every other day. i also have a supercal NoD, i don't use that now and was going to switch to that and use the calcium plus once a...
from what i've read online, the males fly. i have seen the white creepy furry things crawling around and the mini cotton ball things they leave on plants. so i really hope that's the case, and i don't have 2 different sets of bugs!
I can't get a good pic. And now i'm really worried because...
@jamest0o0 so i'm 99% sure they are Mealybugs... from what i read through old posts, they're not easy to get rid of. Have you had experience with these?
No didn't add anything new, but I have my enclosure in the living room and a friend of mine was house sitting and she left the patio door wide open for a long period of time so i'm thinking that's what attracted them inside. Cham's home is literally next to the door! haha. But yet... they look...
@jamest0o0 i just saw your post from march... i think i might have the same bugs you took a pic of. i just don't think they're fungus gnats because i've examined them closely and they have the anatomy of house flies, just smaller. i even measured one while it was posted on the glass door and it...
What are common pests you guys have experienced? I have a sudden increase in tiny flies in my enclosure. they literally sprung up in a week. at least 30 right now. I don't think they are Phorids, based on picture comparison and behavior/movement. they might be fruit flies based on size, lighter...
So I think my panther has started to lose his taste for Phoenix worms but he is digging the black soldier flies they turn into. I'm not sure how it happened, but I've caught 4 black soldier flies inside my house. I'm curious, what are the conditions needed for the larvae to turn into flies? I...
I have a male panther that is about 9 months old. I've been feeding him daily but I do notice him starting to slow down and even not eating all his food. I cup feed. Not sure if it also has to do with moving him into a new upgrade enclosure. But when does every one change their feeding schedule...
I got a MistKing Starter system. i believe it's not much more than the monsoon. definitely worth it. what size is your cage? i think i had that same one, so be ready to upgrade to a big one soon! lol i just got my third, and hopefully final, enclosure!
agreed. i was trying to find a balance between the time i need to mist so my cham would drink and not having my cage soaked up all day and my plants drowning. i came to the conclusion that a dripper is the best way to give my cham water to drink and run the mister at shorter lengths. granted, 12...
I just got a bromeliad... so you're saying to take them out of soil and repot to something else? i was going to repot on a soil and grow stone mixture, 60/40 respectively. what is this "cork bark tubes" you speak of?
Can i just glue the plant with e6000 glue to a big branch too???
Lol! of course the ones i was curious about are the fake ones!:ROFLMAO: Thanks for letting me know. i have a ficus, and it's pretty much dead... might get another and pot it better and hope the new fixture will help.
I got the 12% quad fixture as well from Todd and about to set it up on the new enclosure which should finish this weekend. @spacecats1001 are all the plants you have in there real and what are they? i see some nice ones that i'd like to put in mine as well.
yes... timers are a life saver! i got one from home depot that had two plugs for my UVB fixture and basking lamp. it was $4! definitely worth it

does anyone have a digital therm/hygro they have purchased and used that they can recommend? i've been looking all over Amazon, and there are so many but also a lot of mixed reviews. I have analog ones now, and see how inaccurate they are. any links/direction would be greatly appreciated.
I'm assuming you're on Oahu. I used to live there, so i'm familiar. while they aren't a native species, they have since established populations in the wild out there. the local trick i learned was if you go to your garden at night, use a flash light to look for them in the branches. they'll be...
