my panther is friendly! i open the cage and he runs out to me :D its cool. but i have yet to get him to eat from my hand, any tips?

i have live plants in mine and i have found that the little dripper only lasts for an hour or so. so instead of using any drip method i just mist the whole cage about 3 times a day. he drinks from the leaves every time and he is still a healthy little fella

i bought my first chameleon about three months ago and i love him to death, i just dont think it is what they said he was. if yall could tell me what you think that would be great. ps his name is Sheldon :D
