I’m not very experienced with eggs but when they are infertile they are smaller and mold sooner rather than later once set up for incubation. I would suggest posting a pic of the eggs once they are set up in the incubation box.

Leave it there for now. You want to make sure it’s really dead before you give up on it. Hatching is a lot of work. They have to absorb the remaining yolk and rest usually before they crawl out of the egg. Leave the container in the incubator with that lid on.

So interesting!! In a colder year they hatch later so have to grow faster and be better at catching prey!

The good news is the Nitens actually laid eggs even if they were outside of the lay bins. The Lineata bins are full so maybe they wanted a new lay bin. I just put new Lay bins in on Sunday, for the Lineata. They are full of eggs by Tuesday

im not open the lid in incubate process, i only cut the egg when it collapsed after 3-4 days. I though it had died before i cut because i saw its tounge sticked out :(
