There's got to be a trick to finding poop, right?

Any loose bugs in the cage? My clean up crews(isopods/millipedes/springtails) would delete poop within hours, but you don’t have bioactives…. Roaches/crickets/etc will happily eat chameleon poop too

    US Custom large enclosure.

Oh no quite the opposite! The enclosure is amazing, but I’m considering going down to 18x36 enclosures for the adults, and bioactive. I have limited space, so this would allow me to fit a trio and 10 baby cages all in the same footprint that this cage takes. It’s going well, I’ll go do an...

    Maybe sick or I’m exaggerating?

Yes! You can make it bioactive, they make trays to hold drainage layer. The enclosure you looked at could also work if the top is screened. It doesn’t look it but it may be me assuming because the lights are affixed inside the enclosure. But size wise it could work with proper airflow and...

    New to Chameleon

...just look around the forum, ask whatever questions you may have and check out some of the many enclosure threads. This is a great guide for bioactive. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/intro-to-bio-activity.2429/ I would advise against getting a chameleon from an expo, unless they are...

    Where do I even start?!

...looking at a hybrid set up so not entirely mesh but mostly as I’d like to do a diy background like I have for my gecko. I also want to do bioactive. My problem is, there’s so much conflicting information online about everything. I’ve had a look through chameleon academy online also and...

    Completed first chameleon enclosure!!!!!!

Looks great! More branches and plants definitely…make a nice little forest or jungle. Just have to put it out there - have you thought about setting it up bioactively? It would be a bit more work and fussing over, but it’s easier to do than it seems. Btw, I love the artwork on the side. 💗

    Glacier Country Viv. Build

...We live in northwest Montana where it gets cold in winter and the indoor humidity is usually about 30%. We are building a planted bioactive vivarium. The chameleon academy resources are guiding our build decisions. I hope this helps some people that live in a similar northern climate...

Cute comments the chameleons are making! Nice setup too.

    Urine smell

I have noticed the same with my brothers bioactive setup. I would suggest making the lower part less dense, so the droppings reach the bottom. Otherwise the cleanup crew won’t do their job. Or you need to cleanup droppings that don’t reach the bottom. By any chance having spagnum moss on the...

My enclosures are bioactive and I’ll find my chams sometimes lower to hunt their isopods. The whole idea is to provide a gradient of temps so that the chameleon can move to...

    Chameleons humble abode

...they still do questionably silly things... Perhaps a pothos from a hardware store (Home Depot/Lowe's) to add more natural vines for him to wonder in for your enclosure. It would do great in the ground of your bioactive cage, the leaves grow better when you get the Vine to grow upward too!

    Feeding on Vacation

Hello, we have a 5 month old Panther Chameleon named Pablo. We have a bioactive enclosure with automatic timer lights and mister. We usually hand feed Pablo 15-20 crickets a day, one feeding in the morning and one feeding in the evening. The reason for my post is we are going on vacation this...

    Veiled chameleon color issue

I bought a veiled chameleon from a pet shop a week ago. I set up a bioactive terrarium, and all the basking temperature, ambient temperature, and humidity levels are at good ranges. However, since the chameleon came home, its color has been very dark. When I bought it at the pet shop, it was...

What does petco do about sick animals?

What I don’t get is the changes they could make for their animals would be cheap and arguably less maintenance. Like they should just use bioactive substrate in all of their enclosures and get rid of the damn bark.
