    Mouth rot

Try to get some softer feeders, like silkworms or even (not overly large) crickets to avoid irritation to his mouth. Sometimes the crunchier feeders or those with spiky legs are the cause of stomatitis…or those which bite back, like superworms and hornworms. Making sure he’s well hydrated and...

    Mouth rot

Getting him to a decent vet asap is the best course of treatment. He will be needing antibiotics.

    Fruit for hydration

You can keep hornworms in the fridge overnight to slow their growth, but any longer than that and they’ll die. Just buy what he can eat in a day or get as small as possible. If it gets too big, don’t chance giving it to him. Maybe you have a friend with a bearded dragon who will appreciate the...

    Fruit for hydration

Hi and welcome. :) Yes, he does need more hydration. Have you been misting/spraying at all? That is probably the best way to offer hydration. A few minutes before his lights go on and off for the day, you should be misting his leaves for about two minutes. If needed, you can add a mid day...

    Looking for ambanja growth logs

He’s turning into a blue beauty. 🥰 Ambanja is one of my favorite locales. I don’t think any photo can ever truly reflect their beauty.

    My Guy is in Trouble

Hi and welcome. I’m sorry that your guy isn’t doing well. Under the circumstances, the best way to try to determine what may be happening is to do a full husbandry review. The bits you provided just aren’t enough info to go by. Copy and paste with your answers please. If you could include some...

    Please Advise: My Plant List

All of these plants will be wonderful. Croton can grow to a decent height over time. Schefflera will probably be your tallest plant and provided you maintain it with trimming as it grows taller, it should be fine.

    Newbie Alert!

Hi and welcome! :) You’ve found the place that can help! What type of chameleon depends on your tastes and goals. However, most commonly people start off with a veiled (aka Yemen) or panther chameleon. The panther chameleon can be further broken down into locales, or what part of Madagascar it...

My healthy chameleon died in boarding

You would have had to have a necropsy done to determine his cause of death. Where did you board him - a vet, pet store, pet sitter, etc? I would think that you may have had to sign some sort of agreement or contract that may offer you some information regarding their liability. Again though...

    vets near Boca? Semi urgent

Have you tried soaking his vent in sugar water to reduce it? For my beardie the vet poured sugar on a gauze, wet it thoroughly and we fashioned a little diaper for her. For your guy I would say just hold him and hold it to his vent for about 20+ minutes.

    Few month update. New enclosure 2 x 2 x 4

Well, I’ll ask you what my vet asked me when I had mentioned breeding my veileds…why do you want to breed them? While I completely understand the desire to do so and, OMG! Squee! Adorable bebes! 🤗 I just want to give you some of the practical reasons why I chose not to breed any of mine. The...

As I just got back from a visit to Veg ER with my female beardie who prolapsed from laying eggs today, I’m thinking about your guy and wondering how he’s doing.

Anyone else got a sadistic lil guy?

I see definite spurs, but crest size and coloring patterns say female. This was my Hammlet as he was growing, so you can compare. His male coloration and patterns began just as he was around 3 months. 2 months old. His patterns are barely visible. Casque is small, like an adult females. 3...

    Rio has a Roommate

Don’t be surprised if Rio might decide his room mate looks tasty one day. 😳 In the wild any small critter is fair prey. Also, be prepared to have him checked for parasites at the end of outdoor season.
